It just show how much you know anything. Trump will diss the whole rest of the world if it is in his power to have relationship with Russia as he knows America can’t become great again without Russia. Just look at where Exxon and Chevron want to have there biggest projects. (Russia/Kazakhstan) where pipelines can actually be built to squeeze money from 1.3b Chinese and 600 million Europeans. I am sure he has data about condition of Mexico /Canada energy industry and US fracking, water resources and bank exposures. This is just one topic among many

It seem your two cents worth nothing

JSR, be realistic. Russia, apart from oil gas and nukes, has become a dwarf power. Be it economically or military.

Except it doesn’t. While 83 million a pop may buy the F-16, Gripen (both debatable). It does not buy the support, weapons, ToT, that India desires.
The UAE block 60 are specific to their needs. The India offering is not the block 60, they are based on the F-16V without the UAE proprietary equipment.

In fact rumours say they are on a F-16 tweaked up like F2…. For cheap of course

    Not a widely shared opinion.

When is ‘later’? Because the F-16 line will be transferred to India over several years, in stages. Dovetailing with the setup of a local ‘dual engine’ FGFA/PAKFA production line.

Modi hasn’t said anything on the matter. Futile to expect him to intercede.

    He said next year.
Anw, considering the amount of BS he said over 2 years…

That Guy is the acting Defense Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar… Are you are expecting after Vishnu? :very_drunk:

His assertions proved either false or just bluff several times…

Things are little more complex. Parrikar said there would be two competitions. One for a second production chain aside Tejas Mark IA (RFP for subcomponents were recently officially released) and later one production chain for a dual engine. Gonna be a nice zoo if things work like that. However, Modi will decide in the end and Parrikar assertions have recently been hmm… Shown wrong?

Wrong. None is behind 30 degree really, when it is about carefree handling in the main part of the flying envelope and some loaded weight at least. You can go behind that in a shrinking envelope only.

Any clue about what you are saying?

Toan, who was a member here, posted that over at f-16.net. I remember looking for the study at the time because I was interested. No dice.

interested in the study, if you find it.

The wing loading of the Gripen E shouldn’t too much of a problem. Since it has a bit higher service ceiling despite the same speed, I assume they added better lifting bodies plus the stronger engine to sustain those speeds. The Gripen E is a longer airplane however, so it will suffer more in the pitch due to the drag caused by the turn, but I doubt it will be by much. And it is draggier in general.

The Gripen E and Gripen C have similar agility it’s safe to say. The Gripen E does not beat the Gripen C in agility. The philosophy of a bigger engine for better power vs smaller frame will be similar to Super Hornet v Hornet.

The F-16A is more manuverable, but that doesn’t mean the F-16C is less agile. It can simply beat the F-16A in other areas like climb and acceleration.

    Here is what I found.

    http://www.network54.com/Search/view/211833/1132577659/Re%3A+Dubai+Air+Show+2005?term=%22100T%22&page=102444

So Gripen can beat the F-16 in the instantaneous turn and AoA and the F-16 sustained turn and acceleration. The battle would look quite similar to Hornet v F-16. The Gripen would be better at low speeds and forcing the F-16 to overshoot and get that quite kill while the F-16 had the advantage in higher speeds and would try to beat it in a turning and climbing battle.

Frankly some numbers quoted in your network 54 link are odd at the least.

Pretty sluggish… odd that they would seek to demo the Rafale in a flight regime that it so clearly isn’t happy in. I wonder how close he was to its maximum AoA.

FCS limits to 30° afaik max used during tests at 100° with negative speed (during BFM, as far as i remember source was in G. Chambost book)). Nothing related to F-35 btw.

The rationale for what? Pitch again for what? Rafale team do not pitch, they work instead of communicate. Started JVs (Thales SAMTEL, MBDA with Bharat Electronics while Boeing and LM are advertising.
Btw, they offered to set up a local production line if second batch was 90 or more. Safran already invest 1 billion in Kaveri engine improvement etc.

AFAIK FC-31 is not an export denomination. It would be named J-31 if it was accepted and inducted into PLAAF.

And they could have gone with Tata/TASL. Or Mahindra. Or L&T.

Instead Dassault went with Reliance. Birds of the same feather…

Tiring with this endless blah blah about Dassault supposed corruption…
