The EOTS is less than half the weight of Talios, a small fraction of the drag, is mounted on the aircraft’s centerline and so doesn’t introduce an asymmetric load, and of course it includes air to air modes including an IRST.
Seems the actual aircraft designers have you out smarted again doesn’t it? 😎
Inever said EOTS didn’t have any advantage. Talios is designed “plug and play” to replace Damoclès and has some little advantages like datalinks… Still i wonder what they mean by “the only pod capable to manage the entire decision chain”. Jesssmo you should look at the picture, you will see that talios data are fused on tactical screen.
The APG-81 is built from the ground up with the best tech and that includes SAR and its associated processing engine. Most F-15Es are flying around with an MSA and even when it gets the APG-82, that is just a hodge podge of existing tech derived from the APG-79.
As far as EOTS integration, name any other IRST/FLIR that automatically (ie without any intervention from the pilot) gathers info and identifies all air & ground contacts within range?
Talios (i agree not in service yet)
Still… HAPPY 40th birthday TONKA!
I wonder if they are relying on Link-16 for F-35B-to-Ship links or MADL?
Improved L-16, MADL is a tactical data link (short rage partly due to directivity)
Excellent choice tbh (i imean in Egyptian context)
i’m a bit lost with uncivilized systemes (aka non metric), but…
An empty rafale C weighs about 9.5 tons + 4.5 tons of internal fuel. + lets say 2000 tons extra fuel.
Max take off is 24 tons. How many tons of bombs remaining? 8?
Like the plane or not, let’s not get personal here. Thank you.
Sry, is it me youare talking to? Didint see anythingh tprllizh in this videp, or you could telll= me by here? in pm) TY
From my mate whose mate, mates told him from his mate at Lockheed
So from the horses mouth, so to speak.
And I heard this from a freind of mine, that the F-22 is the “Dogs ********”.
And in tests against other aircraft, from foreign countrys has never ever been shot down.
But he admits due to a stupid pilot a “Growler” did get a laser pointer on one, from the back seater.
Hope this helps.
really??? show this picture to him.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGuWadoTgkE
End of program nEUROn aimes in october (private info, do not ask any source)
Hmmm.
CAMM’s datalink, I bet. I wonder if it’s just an ASRAAM with some CAMM bits, or a proper CAMM(A). Or is there any difference between those two things?
Think i saw somewhere that they were on advanced ASRAAM
The thing with Taranis in my opinion is that its all done in the UK, largely in secret and with aims that have been specified by the UK. It hasn’t needed any input from other countries and although we don’t know exactly what it can do, it’s such a successful programme that it must at least be a bit tempting to carry on it the same vein.
Although I don’t doubt that there is much to be gained from cooperation with the French, but somewhere in Whitehall/Warton etc people must be thinking that it would be easier to at least do part of the future fastjet thing alone without having to compromise with Greece or Italy or Sweden etc.
In fact it has inputs of techs developed for F-35 (be it US or UK, i dont know). Intellectual property is a pain for FCAS. Btw Neuron, after successful firing of “smart bombs” is going back to Solange and then to Istres. Future unknown, but i guesss it will also stop soon.
Neuron tests are nearly over. Successful shot of Mk82 in Sweden, then it will go back to Bruz at Solange testbed and than to Istres, probably for a slow dying.
