Quatar does not have that much money considering its bad investments. it has cut down WC stadiums by 1/3. its LNG future is dark.
I don’t know how French came to believe that Qatar can afford couple of squardons of Rafale with expensive weopons and training.
you take the bet?
Commander of the Iraqi Air Force just announced that France has offered to sell Iraq a squadron of Rafales!!
In the past the French had flat out refused selling Rafale to the Iraqis. Lets see what will happen with this!
Asked to Dassault, absolute BS.
?
EU programs Korrigan, Manga, Magnus and Eusic. 5 plants/companies/universities are certified for the production of GaN modules in europe (QinetiQ, Chalmers, UMS, +2 that i forgot).
ATM to my knowledge, only one is producing modules (UMS) for EU countries, but intellectual property is shared.
Righto. For one thing, Gripen E will use GaN-based AESAs in the vertical stabilizers and wingtip extensions as jammers (this is an elaboration of part of Agrppa’s post),
Yes. Only two planes will have that at this time 😉
GaN radar actually (in collaboration with Chalmers university, using their GaN process)
The longest range version is Giraffe 8A. 4A is the middle one. All S-Band. There is also a low-range GaN in X-band, Giraffe 1X.
Edit: Here is a link to the product brochure for Giraffe 8A, http://www.saabgroup.com/Global/Documents%20and%20Images/Campaigns/Radar/product%20folders%20low/Saab_Broschyr_G8_low.pdf
It is not Chalmers owned, it is owned by 5 plants/companies in Europe after several european research programs
thank you. Btw the mirage 4000 fin was entirely made of composites and used for fuel storage 😉
I’ll do my best and of course let you know if…
Atm i am trying to collect archives, then i’ll see what i can do with them.
hey all,
starting a booklet about Mirage 4000 (with Dassault PR help).
please post any material i could use (citing authors of course)
@Mack 8 i should soon have a bunch of high rez photos.
@otocar i think u used m2k wings for your cutaway (airbrakes). Still excellent job, but i’d be interested in sources (aswell as using an updated cutaway according to what DA will tell me)
Thx to all!
The missile has been designed to be capable of engaging high-speed targets at short range (up to 20 km in tail chase mode) and long range (up to 80 km in head-on chase mode). At sea level it has a range of up to 20 km but could have a range of 44 km from an altitude of 8,000 m and 80 km if launched from an altitude of 15,000 m.
Congratulations, both on the successful test, and speaking the truth on impact pending on aspect & alt
AGREE
they have given 2025 to 2030 period. where it is highly likely Gripen production is either closed down or very low production rate. Europe except for Norway cant afford F-35. and Norway only can afford to operate F-35 if it keep increasing gas prices for rest of Europe.
Finally happy to live in France where most of our electricity is produced by nukes 😉
Not very nice to criticize someone asking a genuine question…
Interesting near future in congress corridors if confirmed…
According to “La Repuclicca”, italy should scale down by 50% its F-35 orders tomorrow

“un bel avion est un avion qui vole bien”
i guess they could have been good friends…
Couldn’ find the date, sry.
Carl Haglund is the swedish folk partys representative..his predecessor when F-18 was acquired was also a SFP member Elisabeth Rehn…but there was no Gripen at that time..or just a proto that rolled on the runway.
I haven’t heard of a voice for a indigenous stealth fighter yet.
your sentence from Bill Lear was said before MArcel Dassault same sentence?
Sintra, Tu22m you should visit F-16.net, there they all agree that F-35 is as cheap as Gripen E 😉
