BriteCloud decoy set for Typhoon integration

Talked with Selex engineers at PAS 17. Thet claimed that it could decoy ANY missile for at least 7seconds. (they insisted on any when i asked about aircraft radar guided missiles)

Interesting data for point defense would be the minimum time to take off after alert…

while 4th gens have lower speeds due to drag created by targeting pods, fuel tanks, etc

Targeting pod for interception? And Rafale is able to fly M1.7 (reportedly) with three “supersonic” 1250L tanks. I guess typhoon can go even faster.

In bold terms, Israel was not allowed to sell anything but US stuff (in dollars)

Well, first of all the scheme you give is interesting, but will only work for a defined wavelegnth. Some ‘simple and fast) electronic systems are able to do near real time treatment, much faster than the duration of a pulse.Of course, you still have the leading edge (remember i was the first to quote it in the discussion).

Leading edge tracking has two issues : first there is a huge loss of information. Second, you do not want to use it until you are sure you need it. Nothing is perfect in this world…

I’m not good enough in RF to answer. The only thing i know is that jammers are AESA.

    – “A European military pilot said the nose jumped around while the aircraft was banking, which he took as a sign of faulty flight control software.”

This part is true, aswell as you’ll ee nose jumping up just before any turn. It is wrth noticing F-35 flew with a temporary FCS (not 3F) afaik.

ngine removal on most US fighters takes an hour to a few hours and the F-35 is unlikely to be any different.

Seriously? Fastest afaik is F414 from F-18. Few hours. + testing after reinstallation.Brignati is comparing with Rafale (less than an hour, no further test needed). I thought it had taken 60 hours to swap en engine on LHD?

You might think, this part is small and negligible but leading-edge-tracking (aka taking measurements not according to where the center of the return signal is but rather at the leading edge .All RGPO/RGPI cover pulse jamming tends to lag the target’s returns by some increment of time) is actually a very common ECCM method

Can’t agree more. Albeit not magic wand (neither active cancellation ). Leads to a loss of bunch of infomations.

All form of jamming (“active cancellation” included), need a certain level of J/S ratio to be effective, in that sense the jammer need to radiate at sufficient power to be effective.
Different kind of jamming will have different requirement for this J/S level

    .

The idea is to send signal in a very narrow angle (way under 1°) so as not to need to much energy.

About perect knowledge (or so) of configurations/anle, each new config is tested for WEEKS in Solange testbed (anaechoic chamber).

Which makes active stealth a desirable tool, among many others.
