Even more amusing when you consider that since 2008 the B-1B has been the most utilised aircraft for CAS in Afghanistan.

:highly_amused: CAS meane CLOSE. Some seem not to understand the concept.

As far as it works fine, where is the problem. Not that i qould disagree a gun should have been incorporated into 2000D soehow.

Do you see me on there often? I’ve read your comments there. Have to be honest, I don’t see much difference between you and the most bias of them. With one exception, they don’t edit poorly sourced hit pieces on the Rafale for an online aviation blog, I can’t say the same thing about you in regards to the F-35.

And no, I am aware you were a JTAC, does that make you an expert on fighter performance? And yes, in the 2000’s I did have contact with engineers with P&W, Boeing. Careers change.

I did at least once and the document i posted there wasn’t edited (omg it is on the TV channel!!!) it is a pure France 3 (public channel) document. Despite Ricardo deep stupidity. Please show any edition? i’m curious. F-35 simply isn’t fit for CAS will be certainly a great DEAD/Strike platform (block4) with exceptional SA, but it is simply not nimble enough. I’ll give you a hint it is not a problem of roll rate, but close.

Probably a source, maybe. And you? Do you know anyone in aeronautics apart from F-16.net chest bumping asshole teens?

Sure and even if the exercise yields a 5-1 kill ratio

Please explain? Do you mean when USAF spokesman lied about having belly tanks or such sort of things? And yes i had a source. Who do you think is the “H.” in the early comments from bruno?

At least Grandclaudon had the intelligence to give a victory to F-22 and not to claim one(uou know, diplomatics etc.) (conversely to the usaf spokesman who was caught the hand in the pot). Diplomatics, you know

    Disappointing no?

PS have you ever seen your godlike plane fly (apart from impressive sheer power) ? i have at least i’m speaking about what i’ve seen.
Have you ever done a JTAC task? i have. I speak about what i know. Do you?

So maybe, you should truxt me when i tell you F-35 is a turkey in CAS (CLOSE Air support) instead of showing your vast knowledge of the subject?

Us vs US exercises… Don’t spoil the broth 😉
The mighty F-15 was NOT helped by an awacs (conversely F-35 was)
Lets wait or a really operational F-35 vs an AESA equipped Typhoon or Rafale. Another story.
CAS? LEt me laugh. Would you mind showing me a show of force?
    DEAD or strike yes. Ok.

“It’s cool to go out and see them off your wing.”

In the end the most important sentence (for both sides)

While the F-20 did make use of some composites, the company did not see this as a particularly significant feature of the aircraft. Composites (and RCS) were not even mentioned in “Tigershark design and technical data” by Northrop VP for engineering JH T Gallagher. What evidence is there to suggest that its RCS was “remarkably smaller” than that of the F-5E?

As far as i remember, they insisted much more on reilability and sorties rate no?

logical choice. However, i would more focus on low altitude engine behaviour vs more powerful no? EJ
is already very powerful and i do not understand how it would improve range.

Guess he has never heard of JSOW or JSM. The F-22’s bay is smaller than the F-35’s. Does he think that the F-22/35 hybrid will mount LRASM sized missiles internally? Besides, LRASM has the range to be fired from well below the horizon so wing-mounted AShMs will not be an issue.

JSOW and NSM are too light to be very efficient vs large ships. And will not happen before (planned) F4

Interestingly we had the same charge from Dassault’s CEO lately in front of French parlement. It seems then that the main credence for the future Franco-German fighters lies in a castel of words and short sighted opinions.

And from DGA CEO. the main credence is lying in your opinions? Do yo uknow it is allowed to say “imho” and to explain WHY those opinions would be short sighted?
