Halloweene, can I ask if that is a French specific view?

Are there still to be one British, one French prototype? If there have gone for the French airframe and French engine that is interesting and slightly confusing (although I can see why it would be hard to unpick Eurojet, but the Turks seem to have found a way).

Not a french airframe, a common airframe. And yes it was from a Dassault operational during a IHEDN conference. Common airframe, different electronics, M88 derived engine. Well that’s the plan ATM. (things always change)

To quote Air Marshal Davis in this month issue of Flight International*:

“There are now more than 200 aircraft delivered, operating in 12 locations with over 75,000 flight hours; more than 380 pilots and 3,700 maintainers have been trained or are under training. This can’t happen with a troubled programme”

And, by the way, the availability of the ones among the 200 in service with the USMC and USAF is higher in 2016 than that of the 100 Rafale…

    *p39

Again that ignorant and stupid argument. (i) realiability measure is the ability to perform an operational contract (which ability is ZERO% for F-35 atm). Of course, facts not Absolutely obvious won’t cross hurdles of thick skulls. Btw, what has Rafale to do in this?

    No.

Russians might not like it, and i am sure that your government hates it, but there´s this thing called “Free Press” in the West, and if you think that Russia has a “bad press” from the likes of CNN/BBC/Whatever, they can be a lot more agressive with their own governments. Ask Trump, or José Socrates, or Tony Blair, or Maggie Tatcher, or Silvio Berlusconi, or Richard Nixon, etc. If you think that the Western Press is a tool from NATO, the CIA, Western Governments, the Mossad, the Martians, whatever, in order to vilefy Russia (or China, or Mars, etc), wake up, they are pretty much their own bosses, and you can find every type of opinions there. Even Merkell has had more “Adolf Moustaches” than Putin!
And Hell, the Russian Government dont need any help in order to get some awfull press, they are extremely good at it…

GREAT, GOOD, we are getting somewhere!
All of those countries, today are vastly better than they were under the Soviet Union Leadership, thats undeniable, any number that you care to compare between today and the eighties, be that GDP, standard of living, life expectancy, whatever, and the Poles, the Balts, the Hungarians, etc, live better today.
And if the Russians are better by living without the “younger brothers” its a “Win/Win” situation? Maybe, but just maybe there´s a lesson in there?

    They were never threatned?!
Tell that to the likes of Imre Nagy and Alexander Dubček…

    Dont flatter yourselves.
From 1945 till 1989 those countries along with their Western European oposites lived right under the threat of a massive nuclear Götterdämmerung, conventional armies the size of the ones that fought the IIWW were stationed inside their borders, and their cities had more nuclear weapons pointed at them than what the US and Russia together field today . On top of being on the first line to be transformed on a nuclear waste land, the chaps that lived “East of Berlin”, if they felt slightly “independent” might receive the visit of seven hundred thousand´s “Communist Brothers” driving T55/T62´s…
    Thats being “under the gun”.

Don’t get so tired. One day they will finish by understanding that general opiion is Russia? What? Who cares?

These three “misunderstandings on the map” are dangerous only to themselves. Their future failure.

Like Kaliningrad, a stolen part right WITHIN NATO?

That is more or less what I have to say. A mountain out of a molehill.

But, of course, it still has to be considered unacceptable for the aircraft to shake like that during take off, so a solution will still need to be found – there just isn’t a hurry for it perhaps?

IMHO, this is just the type of reasoning that led to so many delays in program. A test program is structures so as to perform tests sequentially. Skimming some and problems induced can be very harmful to a program as often they were considered as “ticked” for further testing.

Nato like EU is organization of free loaders. so hence it will attract members.

Well tell that to Turks on November 24 2016.. Admittely that attack was done in Syria but this the shape of things to come as Russia procurement surges and diversification away from declining Europe.

It does not matter whether you spend 1.8% or 100%. it is dysfunctional overpriced labor. it will not be even take into consideration.

Those were Soviet allies not Russian allies. The definition of Russia ally is very different.

Russia does not care whether they like some or not. Russia scientific and military development is not depended on them. Its Germany that need them to work for there firms. but Germany will have to give very big concessions to Russia for utilizing them.

Concessions. Funny. Paralay, JSR, there is no thing such as “russophobia” there is just russo idon’t the **** care about thirld world countries.

Updated to F-35A departure from Avalon
Due to weather in Amberley the F-35A will now depart Avalon Air Show on Monday, 6 March rather than Sunday, 5 March as previously scheduled.

It is well documented that the F-35A aircraft requires modifications for lightning protection and these modifications have not yet been completed on the two visiting Australian aircraft. As safety is Air Force’s priority, the aircraft will not fly in conditions where lightning is present. Prior to return to Australia, the Australian F-35A will be modified with lightning protection.

While the visiting F-35A aircraft belong to Australia, they are currently placed within a training pool in the United States and the specific movements of the aircraft are authorised by the United States. Authorisation has been given for the aircraft to ferry to RAAF Base Amberley, from RAAF Base Amberley to Avalon, and then return from Avalon to RAAF Base Amberley before returning to the United States. Following a late notice request by the Royal Australian Air Force, the USAF supported and approved an Avalon to Avalon event yesterday. Approval to fly at Avalon on Sunday was not requested by the Royal Australian Air Force and, therefore, with the weather events in Amberley, we are unfortunately unable to seek that authorisation.

Heard recently at Ecole de Guerre conferences…

Only one FCAS prototype basis. FCAS will be double cranked “à la” X-47. Engine will be M88 derived (intellectual property on EJ200…). Electronics will be partially country specific.
