I am going to assume mine until you clarify.
Naive, No I dont think so I have been around for a great many years and Naive is one thing that I am not. You could ask anyone around me. I am not easily lead and I have very strong opinions of my own
Immature again I have been around for a number of years and would seem to most to be mature before my years in a lot of cases.
These views are simply my own formed on a great number of years watching this country go down the drain one Political Party at a time. None of them seem to make a difference. My views are different from your Gooney but that makes them neither Immature or Naive it just makes they different.
I dont have the answers to bring this country to its feet again. As I said in another post if I did surely I would be running the country.

And everyone could give up work as they’d spend so much time voting in referenda over the type of biscuits to be provided in Government chambers or which brand of sticky tape to order or perhaps a referenda on something really important like how much the next pay rise for this ‘centralised’ Government should be.

Well maybe not quite Kev but you get what i mean.
The decision makers would still be within government but the public should have a say in some of the bigger decisions.
I just think to much time is spent trying to out do the other party. Can see any point to this “Lets change what they just did”
I would like to see something more like “Ok this is ok but lets see how we can make it work better” Then after a while if it does work put up a public opinion poll and see what the people would like.

It seems that politics has evolved so the qualities we dislike are exactly the qualities that are most likely to get you the leadership of a major (or minor) political party.
On a brighter note, at least it equips our politicians to manoeuvre in international politics…..or with the media! 😀

CD – well put! I echo exactly those sentiments. Past politics was riven by set-in-stone ideologies, but those old political ley-lines barely exisit now. TYhere remain a rump of hard leftists and hard rightists but the majority dominate the wide centre ground – some leaning left and some leaning right.
