I haven’t been involved in many non-aviation topics as of late, but this recent string of events in Iraq (i.e. the killing of Nick Berg as well as the Abu Ghraib prison scandal) causes me to ask a few questions because I’m curious about reactions from people in other countries.
My first question is what do you make of the Nick Berg murder, and do you think that it would never have happened if the prison scandal had never occurred?
Secondly, do you feel sorry for the prisoners involved in the prison scandal?
Finally, what’s your opinion of the apparent lack of coverage from Arab media, and the lack of condemnation by Arab leaders?

BUT a smart man would think … 60+ million people were killed during the damn WWII … it was a big damn fight, what makes the lifes of a few thousands more valuable of the rest? what’s so special about them ??? they whine more than the rest, that’s what … let’s be stupid and say there were 10 million of them killed 😀 😀 😀 what about the rest? are they animals ??? why are THESE people so special in everybody’s mind? why is it always that they are the only ones to have suffered? HAVEN’T THE REST SUFFERED TOO OR ARE THE REST JUST ANIMALS???
The difference is that thoe thers were not killed, only because they were of a certain race or religion.
And a few thousands were probably killed during one week in german concentration camps.
The way they died and they way they were treated makes what was done to them special.
If you look at the individual case you will find people of every involved country that might have died in a more painfull way or suffered more then the majority of the jews did. (Dying in the fire storm of Dresden, the atomic explosions of Japan, in Coventry, on Omaha Beach, or been eaten by sharks in the pacific, were surely no pleasant fates)
But you will not find a comparable coherent group of people that suffered the same way during WW2.
Those deeds done to them however, can not be a justification for things happening after WW2.

rat, (yes that’s your new name for me 🙂 )
How exactly was America INSTALLED?
If I’m not mistaken the United States of America was formed when the colonists decided they didn’t want to live under the rule of the King of England anymore.
Israel was formed after World War II, and the Jewish people were sent to an area in the Middle East, which composes modern-day Israel (and Palestine), as they had virtually no other place to go. It is just as much their homeland as it is to anyone of Arabic descent.
How are the two similar now?
If, perhaps you’re referring to the treatment of the Native Americans, then I can perhaps see a sort of parallel, and while what the colonists and later early American (United States that is) citizens did to the Native Americans was wrong you can’t single one country out for things of that nature happening as they have happened all over the world at different times.

More likely those insisting that they are doing their ‘gods’ work.
I would sneer at seemingly intelligent people being taken in by such fiction in this day and age, but people in Britain still seem to believe that the actors in TV soap operas are actually living that life for real…

Religion and believing in a supreme being is definately the route of a whole lot of death and misery throughout the course of history.
True or false?
Flood.â„¢
false … the problem is in the way people interpret religion and try to ALWAYS twist it to serve their own goals … no matter how low these goals would be.
it’s NOT God who we normal people have a problem with, it’s those people who think they can take God’s place.

And how arrogant of you to assume that no-one else knows the true meaning of Semite…….
ok ok … don’t be sad, I admit my English let me down this time, I should’ve written: ” I decided to clear this stupidity once and for all from the minds of people WHO BELIEVE IN IT as too many people are decieved by this rather stupid claim “
I hope you are happy now.

BTW, someone was CLEVER enough to announce me for being anti semitic … after laughing for half an hour I decided to clear this stupidity once and for all from the minds of people as too many people are decieved by this rather stupid claim:
Arabs are the sons of ” Ismail ” or in English ” Ishmael ” who is the son of ” Ibraheem ” better known to you guys as ” Abraham ” from his wife ” Hagar ” .
Jews are the sons of ” Ya’coob ” known in Hebrew as ” Jacob ” the son of ” Is-haq ” or simply ” Isac ” who is the son of ” Ibraheem ” once again ” Abraham ” from his wife ” Sarah ” .
Abraham is of course one of ” Sam ” ‘s grandsons…Sam is the son of Noah who had other sons like Ham for example.
what do we conclude??? that BOTH ARABS and JEWS are the sons of Abraham who is the grandson of Sam … BOTH ARABS AND JEWS ARE SEMITIC !.
now for me – an Arab – to be anti semitic I’ll have to be Anti myself at the first place … get it??????????????????????????????????????????????.
on the other hand, knowing that a Jew is only a Jew when his mother – not his father – is Jew … we simply conclude that nowadays Jews are NOT certain to be semitic at all … so anyone anti semitic is SURE to be anti Arab but NOT SURE to be anti Jew.
finally I would like to indicate that Israel DOES NOT automatically translate as Jews. Period. criticising Israel does NOT mean denying the holocost automatically.

Which proven by the fact, that the US has not killed millions of innocent civilians just for the fact that they were of a certain relgion, race or had a certain sexual preference.

Listen, pal – I’ve been to Auschwitz-Birkenau. You can still feel the horror in the atmosphere even after all this time.
ever paid a visit to Al Khiyam in South Lebanon? where the Israelis used to do things that would make Abo Garib look like a lona park?
I did and it only added to the feelings I already have about them.
BEING HARRASED BY SOMEONE DOES NOT GIVE THEM THE RIGHT AFTER 60 BLOODY YEARS TO HARRAS SOMEBODY ELSE. PERIOD

Defend my dignity? You’ve got to be kidding me …
No one is proud of the tragic events of Qana, but if you truely think Shimon Peres ordered the event then you’re as clueless about that event as you are about the Holocaust.
wise guy, either the order came from as top in command as Pereiz OR the chain of command is so broken and undepend-on-able that some low level officer ordered the masacare – and never got punished for it – which shows a great lack of responsibility inside the gang’s – ops I mean the Army’s – command.
YOUR CHOISE … and BTW, I’ll be changing my signature EACH AND EVERY MONTH, each time describing a new masacare by your democratic defense forces.
By: kfadrat - 17th May 2004 at 21:23
Kfadrat,
Congrats. You’ve sunk to new lows…..How can you even begin to deny the Holocaust??
Proof?
Do you require first-hand experience to believe something like that?
I certainly hope others on this forum are finally beginning to see you for the no-good individual you are….I know I’ve seen it for quite some time.
HAHAHAHAHAHA … listen kid, I TOLD you I AM NOT denying the God damn Holocost, I just want everybody’s dead to be mentioned, is that too much for your young mind to understand ???
anyway, I will never sink to the level you are in … just supporting some gang’s right to take somebodies land and kill their people is low enough, but as an American I know how you would feel if you had to deny them that right, after all, America WAS INSTALLED THE VERY SAME WAY ISRAEL IS BEING INSTALLED.
By: seahawk - 17th May 2004 at 16:18
which was proven how exactly???
Which proven by the fact, that the US has not killed millions of innocent civilians just for the fact that they were of a certain relgion, race or had a certain sexual preference.
Which is proven by the fact that the US has not rounded up the inhabitants of a whole city block and sen them into death camps.
Which is proven by the fact that people have not lost their businees because they were of a certain religion or race under US controll.
Even the recent prison scandal is nothing compared to the crimes Germans comitted under the Nazi regime. To put it simply : The US prison would have seemd like heaven to any person “enjoying” the hospitality of german concentration camp.
I have been personally been to 2 concetration camps and they are still extremely depressing after 50 years. Furthermore there is a list of jewish people from the city I live in, who disappeared during those times. The list is quite long.

which was proven how exactly???
Let’s see, kfadrat – all those dead people and the confessions of most of those responsible would seem to be a good place to start, not to mention the documentary evidence that the Nazis in their overweening arrogance assembled for themselves – right down to receipts for removed gold teeth, all carefully filed and accounted for.
The best evidence that Holocaust-deniers can usually assemble is their own anti-semitic feeling. And no, I’m not Jewish…….
Listen, pal – I’ve been to Auschwitz-Birkenau. You can still feel the horror in the atmosphere even after all this time.
You may prefer to pretend, despite all the evidence, that none of this happened, but I pity your prejudice and myopia if that really is your stance.

It is absolutely unacceptable to compare current US actions to the efficent death indistry of Nazi Germany.
which was proven how exactly???
By: seahawk - 17th May 2004 at 13:24
you mean ” when it comes to lieing about methods, VICTEMS of Germans outclass victems of America ” that’s all.
Arabs are NOT known for being good liers.
I hope no country will ever outclass Germany when it comes to crimes against humanity. That was the darkest period of our past, something we should always remember and be ashamed off.
It is absolutely unacceptable to compare current US actions to the efficent death indistry of Nazi Germany.
By: kfadrat - 17th May 2004 at 13:18
I never denied Holocost, I was talking about lieing, BIG DIFFERENCE … that’s number one.
number two is that unlike in Europe, we Arabs are FREE enough to express our feelings about history, there are NO LAWS againist that.
number three … believe it or not, EXAGORATION IS A KIND OF LIEING.
number four, I’m sick of mentioning the death of a few thousands again and again and completely ignoring the death of 20 million Russians for example, or hundreds of thousands of Arabs whom by the way were considered as incompetent and enemy by Hitler as Jews were.
Finally, Oren … can you deny a single word of my signature ???? I DARE YOU OPENLY … come defend your degnity.
