Scrapyard Photos; Any More?

Hi Neil,
“somewhere in France’ in the late 70’s…” brings a lot of good memories…
The Breguet was at Toussus le Noble Airfield, registered F-BASX, it was rotting along the Constellation L749, 6V-AAR, ex. F-BAZL.
I regret that I never took any pictures of those planes, anyway, I still have a propeller tip and an engine data plate of the constellation.
You will find more pictures of these very particular planes on “airliners.net”

The two photographs are Crown Copyright and were taken at RAF Seletar, Singapore and the date on the back is 02 Feb 1962. The chap! standing in the cockpit is my dad. Yes I was out there as well. For two years.

The tail numbers are WS790, WS841, WS827, WS791.

How about this one?

Taken by Mark12 in 1957 at Lindholme. Any further information on these Lincolns.

Here’s one from me, taken at Bila Cerkva in the Ukraine in 1997. Two of a whole bunch of Tu-22s.

I don’t know if anyone can answer this question but, anyone got any idea which type of aircraft the section on top of Viscount fuselarge XT575 is from ( in previous post )? Also this tail section of a Phantom was in the yard, any idea were it came from and which aircraft?

The following photo’s were all taken at Hanningfield Metals around the mid-nineties. A friendly bunch of chaps who would always let you have a wonder round.

Ambassador scrapping at Lasham

I recently posted a raft of photos I took at Staravia’s yard Lasham – I’ll post some more soon. In the meantime, I thought you might like to see a shot of what was happening over on the main airfield in the way of airliner scrapping. Dan-Air was converting over to more modern hardware and sadly their prop fleet was suffering the chop. The attached photo depicts Ambassador G-AMAE in it’s last throws of life. In the foreground is (if my memory serves me right) Dakota G-AMSU entering its grave. This is the “real” G-AMSU (not G-AMPP which was later painted up in preservation by Dan-Air as G-AMSU to represent it’s first Dak. G-AMPP “MSU” ended up with Aces High who shipped it off to a French theme park I believe). As you can see the real G-AMSU had no such reprieve.

Nigel is still trading,the yard is only open very sparodically though, as he has a new facility (that has no aircraft related bits) where he now spends most of his time.
Last time i was there (a couple of months ago) he had a couple of RAF Jetstreams in, unfortunately not disassembled but cut up into sections , a sad end.
A true character Nigel , though you would,nt let your granny listen to the language !

Jetstreams cut into sections?! I’ll sob all night now! Let’s hope a few more T.1’s survive. The next thing will be the 125/dominies I bet. I hope the T,2’s from Yeovilton will get good homes too.
