Victor Meldrew

Well, I guess it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t put something controversial on here, so, We all have a gripe, we all have a Victor Meldrew in us, Should you have the misfortune of being him, what would your gripe be, everything and anything accepted.Only criteria is that it has to be a genuine gripe, that most if not all of us have, or would agree on.
Jim.

Mike, As you didn’t mention you were driving a motor vehicle, I assume you were in your Sinclair C5, we keep telling you, “Get a Bike” at least you will be seen just that bit better.:D

More idiot drivers. 2 in less than an hour, I don’t believe it. First one had no idea which lane she was supposed to be in to go where she was going. Out next to the island on a roundabout indicating as though she’s going on round but cuts across in front of me to take the same exit I’m taking without changing indicators- daft bitch nearly collected me in her passenger door. Second one was the BMW driver who undertook me in the bus lane to get ahead then ended up with me right behind him when he got caught at the traffic lights. The favourite mishandling of roundabouts around here seems to be people who keep to the nearside on roundabouts so you think they are going off at the first exit but they carry on round beside you and you can’t change lanes for the exit you want so you end up having to go right round and have a second go at it. Needless to say that is usually women. Do instructors not teach correct lane use at roundabouts any more? Doesn’t seem like it around here. That’s my Victor Meldrew moment over for another week.

Good old fashioned Parker Pen Permanent Ink or hair dyes with an abnormal mix of the two solutions will be non toxic enough.

Lance – I took up on a possibly simple solution for Jim’s previous post

Hi Don, It’s about time guys of our age started to fight back, and even a simple thing like myself and Lance have done, could just be the start of a Crusade, (Although I don’t want to be one of the Knights Templar, as Friday 13th could turn out unlucky), but we have all in this Country sat on our 6s and let the Authorities run riot over us, with silly simple things, eg, Wheeley bins for a start.
Anyone any bright ideas, as to how we could get some things changed, simply by annoying the authorities to the point they cave in?.
Jim.

What in the name of sanity are you blathering on about now, Jay?

Has Random Sunday come round again already?

Lance, And I thought you were an educated Professor of knowledge;)
What the lad, Jay is on about, is what we here in the U.K. call a sink waste disposal unit, that grinds all the waste food up, and it goes through the mains. Every place I stayed in when I went to the USA had them, It’s a “Must have kitchen item”
Now………………………………………………………………write out 500 times,:diablo:

Hi Lance – I took up on a possibly simple solution for Jim’s previous post (naughty jobs worth Councils, etc) but admitted my lack of knowledge about why waste disposal units weren’t popular in the UK.:)

They do reduce the number of collections bins, boxes and clutter on pavements outside houses. (we have red, blue, green, black and brown ones and don’t ask me why they are so many in number) – NUTS 😮

Apart from large ‘marrow’ bones (Yum, Yum, do you remember them in a good home made soup?) even smaller bones can go in to a good ‘tweenie’ and comes out the drain with water in the form of grit small enough to not block any filters in drains or downpipes.

Yes Victor Meldrew has one:) and I wish I had one but the drains in sunny Morningside block up simply with heavy rain never mind ‘Tweenie’ sediment.

And what, pray tell, do waste disposal units have to do with Victor Meldrew?

My favourite trick with junk mail is to get a selection and mix them up sending Oxfam to Specsavers and such like where it comes with a return envelope otherwise it goes in with something else. You would be surprised how many you never hear from again.
