India has already rejected that F-35 offer.

Please show a source. F 35 was not requested by nor offered to Indian Air Force. It is on offer to the Indian Navy which has not rejected it and according to report leads the race to equip IAC2.

The F 16 offered to India will have a custom built more advanced EW suite with regional threats in the library.

The F/A 18 Super Hornet offered to India has an Israeli EW suite, again that should take care of the regional threats.

In India, defence deals under an open tender, yes that is how they will be done, strictly by the tender rules, not following them can result in legal action by any contender involved in the tender, or a outright cancellation of the tender either by the MoD, even the MoF. (for e.g. the light utility helicopter tender and the tanker tender).

Now there is a big scope in Gov. to Gov. deals for corruption.

If they wanted to fix the tender, then they must have drafted the requirements in such a way that none but the plane they wanted could satisfy them, which does not seem to be the case judging from all the reporting.

Actually there is less chance of corruption in govt to govt deals especially with USA via FMS route. This is another reason why many think the Corruption Scam embattled UPA will take that route.

Yes while some others say the Americans and Chinese want to form a G-2 and divide the world. I won’t trust them.

And its only a matter of time before we end up in GD.

In that case F 16 will win IMO. Its between the Gripen and F 16.

I think there is a misunderstanding between the moderators on the number of posts/pages in a thread rule.

GA I think looks at the number of posts when its over 1000 he closes the thread.

Arthur works by way of counting the pages once it hits 20 he tends to close them down.

frank mostly closes the old thread after a new one is started by hotdog.

I hope concrete details emerge about the MKI’s MLU @ AeroIndia, the head of Irkut described it as “a deep modernisation”.

Griffon39 does have a valid point about a stuxnet-type virus. Can the IAF gamble on 126 of it’s (predominantly strike) aircraft being held to ransom?…have the Indians effective software screening measures? Besides Norton 😀

Ever Heard of K7 AntiVirus (named after founder Kesavan). But yes it is a valid point but India is far from being an Iran. If extremists/commies take over here in a revolution I’d rather have them removed by some foriegn power.
