Why do you want the design bureau to spend considerable funds and energy to reduce the signature of an engine which isn’t even the definitive one ?

Even YF-22 had stealthy engines 😎

Well there were people concerned how Dassault being a smaller company will be able to meet the 50% offeset requirement. Also their spokesperson was quoted saying that the offsets are hard they will negotiate after the planes been selected.

As for the local assembly will they be able to ramp up their production to deliver the first 18 planes in time then setup production facilities in india etc. Anyway not as big an issue as the offsets.

End of the road for the Ekranoplans. The stored units will be completely scrapped in the near months.

So sad loved the concept and the video you posted regarding their development.

TR1 my reply in your P.M box as further replies here would make the thread go off topic.

The four partners in Eurofighter all produce components and assemble aircraft. If India chooses Eurofighter there will be a big increase in work for the four existing partners. What’s the problem with India taking some of that extra work and creating jobs in India? Win/win for existing partners and for India IMO.

So true, am more worried about Dassault and their ability to meet offsets, local assembly etc. if the Rafale gets selected.

Since there is a new thread let me continue to answer you.

I simply do not subscribe to your view of realism that is all. You can hardly compare promoting democracy around the world to the age of Nazism.

    To quote Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.

Hello, i’m from earth, which planet are you from..:(

Right, just what the world need a new cold war with the Russians and the whole middle-east region set on flames if US attack Iran.

US can’t anything they allready are doing to change the course of their foregin plitics, they have no joker up their armsleeves.
What on earth do you thing the Republicans could do otherwise.
Yeah, not cut US military budget and really drive US bankrupt.

This is at best, flame/trolling, nothing more.

It was not a trolling/flaming attempt. It was however off topic but had a bearing on future Indian purchases from U.S.A etc.

Unlike you I would have a world which has war that don’t compromise on principles, than a world at peace which is full of compromises.

That is the difference between Obama & Bush as well.

No more off topic comments here from me.

We got you the first time around. There are no “political” tenders in MoD. Either deals are made via governments or competitive trials. If competitive trials are called for, the equipment is not evaluated on political grounds.

Easier to say that when there is no need to favour anyone as its now.

Considering how asinine the Bush administration’s foreign policy was…”lovely” Bush, where do you get these gems Quad….

Even Americans are realising how good Bush really was when it came to foreign policy and other things. All of the republican candidates, especially the front runner Romney are talking about the flaws in Obama’s foreign policy. Including ‘resetting’ ties with Russia (going back on missile defense), being too soft on Iran etc.

😎 Here is hoping for a Republican victory, A reversal to Bush era policy towards India and tough (even war) measures on Middle East and against Pakistan.

    On Af Pak

Work with the Afghan government and Pakistan and use U.S. leverage to ensure that those nations are fully contributing to the success of our mission. He will make clear to Afghan President Hamid Karzai that our commitment must be met with reciprocal efforts to crack down on corruption in his government, respect free and fair elections as required by the Afghan constitution, and coordinate with the United States on fighting the narcotics trade that fuels the insurgency. Pakistan should understand that any connection between insurgent forces and Pakistan’s security and intelligence forces must be severed.

    On China & India

Deepen cooperation among regional partners like India and build stronger ties to influential countries like Indonesia. Strong cooperation among countries with whom we share a concern about China’s growing power and increasing assertiveness will help maintain freedom of navigation and ensure that disputes over resources are resolved by peaceful means.

    On Iran

In his first 100 days, make clear that the military option is on the table by ordering the regular presence of an aircraft carrier task force in both the Eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf region simultaneously. He will also begin talks with Israel to increase military coordination and assistance and enhance intelligence sharing.

    Russia

Review the implementation of the New START treaty and other decisions by the Obama administration regarding America’s nuclear posture and arms-control policies to determine whether they serve the best interests and national security of the United States.

The MMRCA Tender is one of the most unpolitical ones around in a long time, surly u can see this my US biased quadbike..

Its all about which platform suits the IAF best, end of story!

 You really am not getting me are you ?

    1. The tender is apolitical and based purely on performance as it is now.+

    2. Had the U.S policy towards India stayed the course set by President Bush this would not have been the case and the MRCA would have been a political decision favouring the Americans.

Ah, yes… good Indo-US relations would have unlocked the secret awesomeness in US fighters which would have made SH fly harder than typhoon and F-16 more versatile than Rafale.

Nope it would have just meant U.S fighters getting selected. MRCA being a political decision etc.

And why would you say that ?

Because Indo-U.S relations were going from strength to strength then, Obama came and things became cold.

I for one don’t believe it would not have been political if there was a favourable U.S administration.
