Nope. Unfortunately for the 7.5g Super Hornet, it performed poorly in the technical trials, so. Even if those benefits did play into it’s favour (which I very much doubted anyway), India would have been stuck with an aircraft that didn’t meet it’s requirements.

You are right its all technical and performance oriented and this is why I think strategy/politics won’t matter at the end either.

I don’t believe for a moment political and especially strategic benefits will be ignored. Those as well as industrial benefits are a huge part of this Indian tender. The latter two are what India very much needs to help boost their aerospace industry and security to India and it’s people, too. Political benefits are also important for India.

If this was the case the Super Hornet would have won this.

I was merely asking boom for sources to disprove him. I googled and could not find any, infact the most information I have about the tender is that article. There is nothing in Force/India-Strategic or any other defense mags regarding it but for that one article.

If some one is refuting a source he has the responsibility to show evidence.

I am not a fan of Mr Sengupta. He has even stolen from our very own Scorpion82, still far more credible than ‘Boom’.
