Well if its better than MICA why should one insist on it being fully taken advantage of. If India already had stocks of MICA then it would make little sense to integrate Meteor on the Mirage, but that not being the case here, India is still stuck Super 530s.

So better get Meteor for the MRCA/Su 30/Mirage 2000/FGFA 🙂

The UPG MIGs can have the R 77s.

PAK-FA will have its own specific family of A2A munitions, so it doesn’t need Meteor in the long run really.

Why should India buy another set of AAMs anyway 😉

Ok I have another question then. If the Mirage cost don’t include the weapons, given the slow rate of upgrade (taking nine years), would it make sense to integrate the Meteor with the Mirage ? will the integration cost more than buying stocks of MICA which are only going to be used on the Mirage ?

I am not on about the 65000 tons which however is the figure that has been circulating for a while. For what I know it will have CATS/EMALS and in all possibility a new Naval fighter.

F 35 C for me Boom and others will say Naval PAK FA which I don’t think is going to happen.

Note that if anyone says “I know this, but I can’t reveal my source because it’s an official secret” I assume they’re lying, because that’s far more probable than that they’re admitting to a serious crime. How many years in jail for that in India?

You say it’s been published. Please provide references – and not to speculation, but to something more solid. Remember, the Kitty Hawk deal was published in the press.

What you don’t seem to understand is that we only have your word for it that these are facts. Where is the confirmation?

This is the internet. Anyone can say anything. It isn’t confirmed just because you say so.

All I see here is speculation.

I really don’t know if they keep archives of dti, this was more than a year ago their correspondent Neelam matthews reporting, saying that India is actively considering EMALs for the second IAC which would be 65000 tons.

My cousin there told me some bizarre stories. There are money in Argentine but the government is deliberately forcing the starving of the armed forces. Food producers must pay a special exportation tax whose revenues are channelized to give gifts to unskilled undereducated people. This in turn create a big inflow of undereducated unskilled people form Andes countries to regions formerly populated by whites, thus creating ethnical tensions. That’s seems really weird.
And some politicians claim that is good to terminate with the Army. So, to buy new fighters is the last priority.

Well as long as the politicians enjoy the support the Argentine leader does she can do away with the armed forces altogether. With Argentina’s history no one is going to symapthize with the Army.

It’s a good job the Pakistani’s didn’t immediately shoot down the unarmed helicopter that strayed accidently across the border and avoided the murder of servicemen…but rather investigated in the appropriate manner.
