    *sigh*

The flyaway price is just one thing concerning cost. Theres much more to it than just that alone.

Depends on what cost the MoD Big Wigs are looking at. With CAG hanging over them like the sword of Democles they may be pressured to go for the L1 bidder, which could well be the Rafale.

    http://cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/c040.gif good one… and agreed

Its not about looks but about capability. Nothing I have seen suggests that the F 35 would be less capable than the PAK FA.

Have anyone yet conceived a stealth Eurofighter concept ? Lets imagine if it wins in India & Japan with all the ToT & Local Assembly, can the two countries along with EADS develop it into a stealth fighter ?

Wake me up when the F35 can:

    – Launch cruise missiles (similar to Scalp EG)
    – Launch nuclear cruise missiles (similar to ASMPA)
    – Launch anti ship missiles (exocet)
    – Strike fixed and moving targets off boresight and up to 50+ km from high alt or up to 15 km from very low alt.
    – Lock ground and air targets from their radar emissions, and destroy them with either air to air missile of aforementionned weapon
    – Do a reconnaissance mission with a dedicated reconnaissance pod
    – Refuel other fighters with a nounou pod

    Nic

Does it have to do all that to begin with ? Americans have F 15E which is the superlative strike platform & USN has the F/A 18 E. So they can sit back and wait for the programme to evolve, as for other F 35 customers, UK has the Typhoon & Tornado, the smaller nations of Europe just need something for Airpolicing and the early F 35s are more than enough. Israel has F 15s as well, and Aussies have F 18s.

Also on the two single seaters, it can be clearly seen that the nose has been replaced. its not perfectly aligned.

    MiG-29 UPG.

Nice shots, esp the one of 3306 ? Do they have a radar the twin-seater trainers, the nose looks too small.

What land of delusions do you live in ? What engine will they put on it? Kaveri?

India is completely tied to Russia here, and the RuAFs plans with PAK-FA. Get over it.
Hopefully Russian export laws don’t prevent “Type 30” from being exported.

Plus, what information do you have that PAK-FA is underfunded, so Indian money would be the determinant when it enters service?

Nope the Russians have already told the IAF the FGFA will be getting the latest and definitive PAK FA engine. So there is no question of it not being exported.

Well Russian going at it alone can have a lot of difficulties funding the project. I meant the unit cost wud be higher, RuAf could end up with less planes.

Completley tied ? Its a two way street India can pull out and buy more MRCA till the AMCA comes, or buy the F 35. But like I said russians see sense in bringing India onboard which will help in funding and production and keep the unit cost down.

    😉

But Pakistan is not a real client state or ally of the USA, otherwise IAF MiG-29s could have been confronting F-14s over Kargil in 1999

Yeah see how well it turned out when they last sold the F 14 to a real ally.
