Why legalise drugs to stop the drug trade and ruin the warlords. Why not co-operate with Afghanistans neighbours in enforicing control of their export, when they can’t get it out of the country they cannot make profit.

The war in Afghanistan could easily be won if its not for the rival interests of her neighbours and the West.

1. Iran wants America to be tied down.

2. Russia wants to use the logistics as a bargain tool with the Americans.

3. Indians want more influence and a friendly regime in Afghanistan.

4. Pakistan wants Indians out as they fear it would encircle them.

5. Americans want to cut short losses and leave if there is some stability.

6. If Americans leave and Taleban takes over all the above said parties will suffer one way or the other.

Invade Pakistan! You want Pakistan to do today what Taliban ‘might’ do tomorrow. Brilliant strategy.

As much as we have problems with Pakistan the last thing India needs is U.S military at our doorstep.

By the why do you think Russians will arm the Taleban if anything they have been very co-operative over logistics and all for the Afghan war. Russian don’t want Taleban any more than the American wants him.

America has a worse history of arming irresponsible groups than Russians.

Boom is right but thats not definitley the best way to go IMO. India is doing well financially now but if it ever gets into a recession the complex types and logistics will bite hard.

Looking at how the Tejas is coming along (rather well offlate) the MRCA is a bit redundant. A short term fix would be to procure second hand Mirages and MIG 29s (even those half built soviet ones put into the UPG standard) and another batch of MKIs. Then standardise on the MKI-FGFA-LCA. So by 2030 IAF will have AMCA-LCA-FGFA and some MKIs. Very streamlined 🙂

I wouldn’t like to derail the thread, but it is upon the citizens to choose whether it’s an effort worth of the costs, not upon those fighting there.

I would dare to say that in most of the involved countries, people would choose to pull out of Afghanistan in a hurry, if actually asked what they think of their country engagement.

That is because a few countries are bearing the brunt, the operation should be internationalized, let the Russians, Indians, Chinese all do it like the Anti Piracy operation.

Security of the rest of the world is just as important as Afghan peoples freedom.

..i am proud to have served in afghanistan for whatever politics involved i and all the other nations and every soldier that are there have done there bit to stop a bunch of evil people torture and murder normal peaceful people who just want to get on with there life,it was worth doing.if you have been on your beltbuckle rounds hitting the ground between you and your afghan army buddies fighting with you then you can put smart **** comments about not being able to trust any of them.r.i.p yanks and the A.N.A with them.

So true people are only thinking about economy and all that and not caring about moral side of the war and whats right and wrong.

Its not like they have to start from scratch. What’s left of F 35B development will probably be less than trying to develop something new/building a bigger carrier etc.

For Italy and Spain only? Not much point for ~36 units.

If there need is more important ? How long can they use the harries for ? Its gonna cost less than developing a new aircraft anyway !

Excellent I hope he uploads the rest. Just finished watching the Strike Aircraft section :). The maker should be happy now that Su 34 is finally on order 🙂

Could be possible for the Russian Navy atleast. Power could not be a problem, ain’t the MIG 35 engines similar to the 29 K engines ?

Indian Navy may not go for it however, unlike the IAF I think the Navy will be looking at quick induction more than new upgrades.

The new 29Ks are the best looking Fulcrums ever. Good finishing 🙂 especially when you compare the pics of the IAF UPGs and Navy Ks.
