So far, Rafale fly over Libya (or near libyan coasts) with :
- Mica

Let’s sink some boats (Exocet) now ! π
Rafale has clearly demonstrated its maturity in Libya π
40 Nuclear Strike Rafales for India please π
^^
Should be up there with a terrorist manual. Are you really giving advice to dictators who commit crimes against humanity ?
DRDO looks beyond HAL for Tejas production
Over the last two decades, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and the DRDOβs Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) have cooperated closely in developing the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) to replace the ageing MiG-21s of the Indian Air Force. Now, with 40 fighters on order for the IAFβs first two Tejas squadrons, ADA is pushing HAL to outsource more of the Tejasβ production, including to the private sector, to boost production to the levels needed by the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Beeb reports a French fighter shot down a Libyan jet. Forum explosion predicted if its a Rafale.
I like 51’s new paint job. Blue just looks kinda weird to me.
I don’t think its a new paint job. Its the time of the day the picture is taken and the photographer using a warmer tone of white.

1457: More now on the bombing of that wreckage of the US plane (previous entry). Officials said the wreckage was bombed “to prevent materials from getting into the wrong hands”, Reuters reports.
From the BBC so we will never know π
TIMES REPORT: Dassault Executive Barred In India
French Govt Firefights Blacklist Of Dassault Exec
The French Embassy in Delhi and Dassault Aviation’s office in Paris are working to firefight a nightmarish development (reported in the Times of India today, see previous post) in which Dassault’s face in India, Posina V Rao has reportedly been blacklisted by the Indian Air Force.
Antony, pull the plug on the MMRCA
ndian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshall PV Naik, has surprised everyone by declaring more than once that the ministry of defence was just days away from deciding the winner of the keenly-watched global tender to sell the IAF 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft (MMRCA) for an estimated Rs 42,000 crore. Naik was evidently hustling his boss, Defence Minister AK Antony, into an early decision, illustrating how narrow service considerations often trump the national interest. For Antony, who has indicated that the contract would be finalised before March 2012, these are the last few months to reconsider what will be a giant white elephant.
YES AND ORDER THE F 35 MISTER SHUKLA ?
UAE is a pretty free country by Arab Standards.
Brahmos is limited to the Su 30. And only one can be carried, and only a few squadrons will be modified to carry it. So not an ideal solution that.
I think its a call for SCALP or Taurus.
Something that could favour Europeans. Americans won’t be offering JASSM.
IAF Wants Long-Range Standoff Strike Missile
The Indian Air Force’s Directorate of Operations (Offensive) has formally called for information from global vendors to support the potential acquisition of lightweight all weather “standoff long-range missiles” for its fighter aircraft, with mid course guidance. The RFI does not specify range or any other parameters, though it indicates the likelihood of series modification for the integration of the missile once selected.
I think even the fanboys on here would say that a handful of Su 30’s, probably of limited capability, with poorly trained pilots would struggle considering all air defence radar networks would have been taken out, and base infrastructure including runways probably destroyed. Thats against waves of allied fighters with full awacs coverage. I doubt the Libyians would have been allowed BVR missiles as part of any deal for fear they would accidently shoot down an airliner
The Russians were going to sell Su 35 to Libya after Rafale deal came to an impasse.
Would have made things interesting indeed.
Well Gaddafi is getting SCALP missiles now alright π Tomahawks too π
A part of me wish Libya had some decent Air Assets, to really see how Good the Rafale and Typhoon are.
Su 30s or something like that.
