I like that livery Sandy – very good!
Another lovely bunch of coconuts, Ren – well done!
When I got stuck in Girona in January due to snow in the UK and Ryanair cancelled the flight – they transferred us free of charge on to the next available flight, which was the next day, but at least we didn’t have to pay all over again!
I find that a touch naive for an airline to expect people to do that. They could cancel flights everytime it’s windy, not operate the flight and make a fortune by never flying a single person on that flight!!!! I think Trading Standards would have a thing or two to say about that affair!
My thoughts go out to the families of those killed and to all those who are badly injured or affected by this rather surreal accident. This should never have happened to such a new modern building. Someone’s head must roll if it’s found that the structure was weak.
why did you leave?
I only left Newcastle because I was offered the job at Monarch in Luton and it was a good step up for me career-wise. Luckily though, I got out of Gill before it all hit the fan – that would have just spoiled my memories of the company too much. I still love coming back up 3 or 4 times a year though to see my pals. When I’m back, it feels like I never left. It feels just as much a home to me as my actual home town, Dundee, does.
Ah right. No worries young ‘un.
As an aside, I’m up in the Toon next weekend – doubt I’ll make it to the airport though unfortunately. I do miss the old Gill place sometimes.
What do you mean? I’m not the only one that makes typos! 😡 You feelin’ me?
No, no, no Greekdude dude, I meant I was being childish for laughing at it! I was heavily praising you for making me giggle! Still mates? 🙂 😉 😀 😎
Well, they are in a good position, hub wise, to feel people from the S. Pacific into Europe.
Extremely childish – but you had me laughing with that typo!! I think everyone will want to fly them now!!! 😀 😀 😀
I don’t think that American Trans Air (ATA) did go bust Ben. It seems that that may have been just a short summer charter series one (or a few) year(s). If it had have been so successful, I would have thought that it would have been repeated every year since. I’ll still be flabbergasted if CO fly from NCL to NYC – but it would be good to see this kind of service come to Tyneside nonetheless. 🙂
Sounds like a fantastically fun trip Wannabe. A trip you will remember for ever, no doubt. Well done on the photos – you done a good job there. Glad you had a nice time.
Happy birthday fellow daytripper!
If CO do a once a week scheduled service from NCL, I’ll sell my photo of me on the pitch at St. James Park with Alan Shearer! Can you think of many airlines who dabble in a once-a-week scheduled service?
As much as I love NCL, having worked there, I really really doubt that any service to EWR would survive and I don’t think CO will consider it. I fully agree that if STN had to get pulled after 9/11 then NCL would be a doubtful and silly move. A catchment area the size of NCL wouldn’t support a daily NYC service IF it ever does happen. I think of the 3 possibilities, BRS would get my thumbs up to catch some of the west of London (not West London, but west of London), the Southwest of England and the Welsh custom.
I’m certain that the Metro goes from the city centre to the Airport in Madrid – although I haven’t used it myself on this route. It’s a fab city – one of my fave’s in Europe. Don’t know much about spotting there I’m afraid – I’ve always arrived at Madrid too excited and left too exhausted to do any serious spotting 😮
On second thoughts, I’ve just spotted the “300” on the safety card – is it the Twin Otter? I still pass on the airline!!
