I always though upgrading the late 70’s designed Akula was a waste of money , since so much has changed in past 3 decades the upgrade will just be more costlier will be less value for money and the fact that it is twice the cost of Borei proves the point.
Its better to invest that money in Borei and Yasen program and bring the strength to 10 for both and upgrade the SSN/SSGN.
941 has little value today other then oh the big bad cold war sub is back and for western press to jump on that claim.
I agree, I hope they don’t sink too much into the class.
However the news on that front have been going back and forth for a while, stay tuned for someone to retort that decision.
