good day to you CroCop.
this says Pak-fa will use some Su-35 avionics and engines.. IRST, 117S, fighter control system, etc and etc
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/pak-fa.htm
Thats a ****ty source and you well know it Hotdog 😉 . PAK-FA will use literately none of that, and its not exactly breaking news.
CroCop won today by the way 🙂 .
it could be bigger.. WS-10 has been nearly as slow as Kaveri! they may be interest in Su-35 technology not just for J-11s, but even J-20.. especially if China continues having difficulties with engines.. avionics is also a possibility.
If deal goes through..we may end up having something like a Pak-fa guts in canard body. 😮
Given that Su-35 doesn’t use PAK-FA avionics (since they are not even developed fully yet), that is impossible.
So let’s sum this up, is that Russian export official making things up when he said China approached them about 48 SU-35?
I have no reason to believe he is. Whether the deal comes through, or changes, or whatever, doesn’t mean there were not talks happening.
Su-27M. Su-27, who cares, Haarlava is right.
Remains among the most successful warplane families of modern times.
I don’t mean to rain on your parade, but as already stated by Mack08, today the Chinese MoD denied any approach/ rfi etc. for a possible Su-35S purchase (J-20B Snoopdog was right after all).
.
Right or not he was hilariously defensive about the whole thing.
Awesome pic. Ka-52 is looking quite beastly.
What are the specs for its current avionics & ESM/ECM fit?
Also, what is the “president” system that mikoyan1991 mentioned?
What is in the nose? an MMW radar?
Thanks.
Yeah the new grey ones have President-S, those are the two small ball turrets under the fuselage, it is a DIRCM system.
Helo has full laser-illumination/launch warning/ecm fit; from what I understand this is the final production variant, at least for the medium future.
Arbalet radar in the nose.
Now what we can look foreward to is AESA in the nose, and Khrisantema/Hermes integration.
85 million per piece?
Wasn’t that what the IAF charged for, for the latest batch of Su-30MKIs?Come to think of it, it was close to $97 million?
That deal pretty clearly included more than just airframes.

Speaking of Ka-52!
What are the numbers for the Ka-52 and Mi-28s TR1 , i lost track of that detail ? Thanks.
Mi-28 has contract of 97 through 2015, but that is not the end of orders obviously.
Ka-52 is fulfilling a contract of 30 airframes through 2012, but as we have seen in past several months, the intended number for the AF has been floated at around 140 units (!!!). That doesn’t include the naval Ka-52.
China is a big country with a lot of territory to protect, what are they going to do with 48 Su-35s, surely an order for 480 planes would be more their style?
Let’s not exaggerate their purchasing capabilities.
So it looks like there is indeed a second Mi-24BM contract signed for the RuAF. First was for 22 airframes, second for 26.
So that’s 48 total….looks like they are really going heavy on attack helos, when you consider the Mi-28 contracts and the recently increased Ka-052 orders.
Fresh Mi-28 and Mi-24BM:

and then shamelessly put their own mark on it! 😡
Nothing new from China.
😮
Looks much better, that intake was hideous.
Doubt we will see it before Mi-28NM.
