First two Su-30SM will be handed over to RuAF next year.

Nothing in that Russian link suggests the engine was fitted.
Of course, take a MiG-21Bison against a mid 80s F-16 devoid of any BVR ability and HMS, and I could see a specific engagement ending 4-1 in favor of the MiG. Doesn’t mean much though.
However, where exactly did you see the 1-4 claim?
Bad news on Dagestan. The ship arrived @ Novorosiisk, and was promptly battered against the warf by a combination of supposed winds and waves. Ship is technically still under Shipyards control, so maybe it is their fault. Either way, what a **** up, warf clearly is @ bad location, plus they did not put enough “padding” to avoid such a problem.
Repairs already underway supposedly, shouldn’t be the biggest deal, but still, Sevastopol is clearly currently irreplaceable.

LEVCONs seem to be at different angles?

New flight group going to be formed, on the Yak-130.
Apparently you can’t read the link I pasted. Go through it, before spouting off.
Yeah. Ok.

Every part of the helicopter cannot survive 12.7mm. That is an outright lie.
Let’s see some Boeing videos comparable to the Mi-28 cockpit testing. They even had a guy inside, I guess they felt secure in the strength of the armor.
Brahmos Aerospace orderbook stands at $5 billion, all from Indian armed forces. This almost equates to 1800+ missiles. Source
(Assumption: unit price= $2.7 million; Source: price mentioned on various internet websites)
Wow nice. Most of the inventory going to be in the army?
(Comment made by Indian Ambassador to SU in the past when SU offered TU-22 (not M) bombers to India was that Russian Bombers are not as good as American ones, but they are far less restrictive).
And from that you derive the blanket statement that all Russian air vehicles are comparatively worse than American ones? Well if that is the land that the Indian defense industry lives in…lol. I suspect they are more pragmatic.
How would the Ambassador even know what he is talking about, somehow I doubt he had first hand experience with either American or Soviet bombers of the time.
I find the whole comparison stupid. Why is Russia expected to compete with all of Europe and the US, and if it does not win every contract, it must mean the production is inferior across the board?
The T-90 comparison was conducted by Indian army which found it inferior in man aspects to the Arjun MBT, the Indian Army was always agaisnt the Arjun MBT and preffered the T 90 so it must be true. And i give the army trials more credibility than forumers here or in MP.net (who’s word would you take a Russian/German former Tank man or the Indian Army)
Don’t want to get into this again, but no other nation has had issues with T-90 accuracy. It is operated in many desert countries. In comparitive trials in the middle east it has repeatedly shown excellent ability.
So, either Indian crews are incompetent, Indian ammunition makers are low quality, or it is misreported bull**** with an agenda.
I don’t really care what others believe, I know what I think.
We had a discussion on this in the Russian thread. I will find it later, right now Skyrim has my attention.
Apache pilots have even commented on it, the glass is basically un-armored. The Mi-28 has videos of the testing, the cockpit has very impressive armor. As for the rest of it, specifics are hard to find, but given the Mi-28s bigger weight I would not be at all surprised to find it more thoroughly armored.
RIP, great boxer. I respect the man far more than Ali.
RIP, great boxer. I respect the man far more than Ali.
what makes you so sure the armor on the Apache is worse?
for others who are interested in that article
Because it is worse? The whole Apache glass area is completely unarmored, while in the Mi-28 the situation is quite different (there is video of the armoring glass testing).
I don’t find the Apache winning to be shocking, like I’ve said before the Mi-28 has a bunch of systems still finishing/gestating, but something like armor? Yeah right. I find the high altitude and maneuverability claims to be suspect as well. I would just like to see firm data, not media speculation. That is all.
Maybe I am just suspicious because media reports of Indian defense matters have been….deceptive what feels like 90% of the time. And not just Indian to be fair.
Some guy asking not to be named stating a bunch of vague performance comparisons, lol, well, not the most reliable of info. I recall when “some unnamed defense people” made some very interesting claims about T-90 gun accuracy as well. But that is another story.
