What “Western” munitions would the PAK-FA need? The program covers a full spectrum of compatible weaponry. India would only be wasting time integrating 3rd party weaponry, with no gain.

Physics exist in the mystical West as well. Won’t be getting Yakhot performance in a Kh-38 sized aiframe, period.

I am going to take a wild guess and say Sukhoi made two bays instead of 1 for a reason. Like structural integrity.

The idea of internal weapons bay on a Russian fighter has somewhat less utility than on a Western one because of the significantly larger size of Russian A2G missiles: the Yakhont, the Moskit, the Kh-59M and the like. Of course, the PAK-FA’s main purpose is air-to-air combat, but still I’d have liked if that gap between the air intakes was wider…:(

Has Sukhoi explored the idea of Silent Eagle-style conformal weapons bays for the PAK-FA?

Uhh, did you miss the new PAK-FA specific munitions shown around? You listed the very biggest ones, not to mention mostly anti ship ones, how is that at all relevent…if anything the PAK-FA program is making it clear they want full spectrum of internal A2G munition capability at service entry…unlike say, the Raptor.

Enough about the Il-476. The Russian MOD clearly sees value in the project, leave it at that.
