    Feel free to elaborate on what you find suspect. As I have said there are a lot of unknown variables which may have a more or less significant impact, so my assessment is not a definitive conclusion and reflects my view based on what I know about the two types only. A Su-35S would yet be another beast in comparison, but that wasn’t the topic here.

    Perhaps my response was too critical, if so, apologies. It was an informative post.

    This lady apparently had a good Superjet experience, froM Aeroflot. The overhead bins look nice and spacious.

    Scoprion makes quite a few assumptions and some of the technical claims are suspect (as they should be, none of us have exact info about all the systems), but it is an altogether decent (if pro-Typhooned biased, IMO) write up. I don’t want to get into a Su-30-Typhoon pissing match, but suffice it to say, one makes a good match up with the other in a2a.

    Of course, the Su-30 is not the best “eastern” thing in terms of a2a out there…

    I find Israeli involvement in a PAK-FA sensor/weapon fit to be unlikely and useless.

    This isn’t surprising really. It is about time the Typhoon was recognised as significantly superior to anything short of the F-22 in an operational air to air capacity.

    lol, what a load of nonsense. I am sure if MKIs and Typhoons meet in India, the results will be the opposite. Nice mechanical radar though. THis whole thing reminds me of those hilarious claims by Eurofighter than Typhoon was equal to 5 or something Su-35s, made a few years back.

    Don’t be so sure they will not. Russia needs cash for future development and ROK is willing to spend cash for it. The ROK can manufacture anything the Russians can design, so really all they need is the engineering know-how behind the project.

    Money is not a problem with PAK-FA program. They certainly don’t need any from Korea, especially given Indian involvement.

    The third ship of the class is supposed to be laid down on 30 August, 2011.

    Indeed, having only one shipyard in an “exclusive” deal with 22350 is crazy. The numbers will be limited, at best.

    An-70 lives?!?!

    “Russian mod bought the first An-70. The Kiev factory has two An-70s under construction, believed to both be for the Ukrainian MOD. According to head of Motor-Sich, Russian MOD bought one, for delivery by 2013. The contract was signed so Aviant could start construction of another airframe.
