If they were EW antenna, they were the same thing.
There’s also a Su-30 MKI EW upgrade planned, but I don’t know whether there is enough space inside the aircraft to include a comprehensive system. It may continue to rely on pods, albeit powerful and hence quite capable ones. Per public info, DARE is working on a variety of EW fits, including podded ones & towed decoys.

I don’t see the Mi-28 winning this, it will be an excellent product when they have everything ironed out this decade, but the Apache is on another level of maturity.

The layout is straightforward, you have multiple receivers covering 360 degrees which act as an input to the unified exciter, receiver, processor which is the “brains” of the outfit and contains all the software and critical algorithms, allowing it to sample the input, digitize it, apply the relevant EW technique, and then send it to the transmitters. The system contains DRFM as well to help it achieve its tasks.
These systems are from DARE (DRDO) which is the EW (airborne) specialist and its local partners. The Tx (Transmit) chain is linked to three Active Array Units, two of these cover the front and aft and the last covers the back of the aircraft. Basically, you have substantial coverage, far more than the usual jammer. These are in turn linked to their main control & power units, basically a couple of solid state transmit and receive units.
A variant of this layout is on the LCA as well. Due to weight/volume constraints it relies on conventional tx chain, but which are reasonably capable and multiband. Again, the architecture is the same, multiple receivers, including high accuracy direction finders, feeding the input to a central processor, and from then to the respective tx modules and antenna.

We already saw some new EW protrusions on the MiG-29UPG platform when the pics surfaced a few months ago- I assumed this was a new Russian/Indian/whatever system. Are you talking about the same thing?

The AF also hedged against the one-seat layout of the Ka-50. Revolutionary, but risky.
Thankfully they ordered completion of both the Ka-52 and Mi-28N programs, maybe a definitive answer will be achievable this decade, over who is better.

From the rear, the PAK-Fa is certainly more “all engine” than either the Raptor or the J-20.
I awlways thought the Ka-50/52s rotor system was indeed LESS vulnerable to ground fire. Many Mi-24s were lost when tail rotor boom gets shot up, link severed, chopper spins outta control. That can’t happen in a Kamov.
MiG-29 Upgrade – it’ll have a brand new Indian EW suite with AESA jammers, developed with help from a foreign partner, tied to a Indian developed central receiver/ processor & signal generator w/DRFM, able to handle multiple threats.

I am not sure what being friendly to Israel really has to do with Su-30MKI. The several Israeli systems on it are easily replaced by Russian (or French, Swedish, whatever) equivalents, as seen on Su-30MKM.
Also they have had problems with recent Israeli upgrades, not sure if they have been resolved.
Given the sensibility and likeliness of very close relations to Russia through the next decade, just go the PAK-FA route post 2020.
Not true at all. Ka-50 was sent to do work in Chechnya, so it is more proven in that respect than the Mi-28.
