Detection range of fighter 30-75 km, detection range of AShM 10-14 km.

To add on to that, the figures are for a 1m2 target, the range is for “trajectory detection”. What is the “Dezhurny Regim”? The figures are doubled for fighter detection.

Number of targets tracked, from 50-100-200 depending on variant.

Oh its solid alright- they removed all that new fancy OLS, SOLO and SOAR stuff from the MiG-35, because UOMZ was shoddy in their production. Weather the problems have been fixed or not, I do not know. I certainly hope so, that equipment makes the package look attractive indeed. UOMZ also caught flak for issues with Ka-52- now that the Alligator is serially produced, maybe the problems have been fixed.

You can cleary see the “sawteeth” on the nose/radome in this vid.

Speaking of angles , i think there are several more pics, which i haven’t seen on the internet at least ( of the T-50-1), in Mr .Fomin’s english suplements of Take-off, which are available online.

I noticed the same, nice pic from the rear quadrant.

From what I have read, the new Su-27SM3 are almost identical to upgraded Su-27SM. Deep Su-27 upgrade was abandoned, instead Su-35S will be bought.

Isn’t $650bn the total military budget over the decade, not the procurement budget?

The total state armament program is actually 22 trilliion roubles over 2011-2020, and 19 trillion of it is going to the Ministry of Defense. But yeah, total budget of course, not just procurement.

Decent round up of what the Russian AF is receiving these days. Mostly stuff we already knew about, but I can translate specific parts if people are interested.

To summarize however, for this year, we can look forward to the production of, at the minimum:

28 airplanes: 2 Su-35S, 6 Su-34, 8 Su-27SM3, 8 Yak-130, 1 Tu-214OP, 2 Tu-154M, 1 An-140-11

Over 100 helicopters: 15 Mi-28N, 10 Ka-52, 2 Mi-35M, 1 Mi-26, 6 Ansat-U, 6 Ka-226, and more than 60 Mi-8s of all kinds.

Well Russia has been saying that there is no reason
why we should be going into libya and that innocent civillians are dying,
well that does sound heck of a lot like what happened in georgia, dosent it?

Aside from the fact that citizens and peacekeepers from the attacking nations were not killed in Libya…? As I said, far too many differences to use Georgia as a reply to certain Russian’s displeasure with the “No fly zone” (as if its only that).

Heh, true.

I was looking at the Vzlet magazine PDFs available at their website, for the Mi-26T they state 56 ton max take off weight, and 20 ton cargo.

“A heavy helicopter programme run in cooperation with Chinese partners is in early stages too. Under the programme, three helicopter designs have been outlined, with their takeoff weight to range from 26 t to 38 t. According to Andrey Shibitov, Russian Helicopters and its Chinese partners have no common
understanding of the prospect of the programme yet. If the parties come to agreement in the near future, full-scale development of such a helicopter could kick off next year.”

Guess it is not clear if it will be larger or not, my mistake.

And RT (Russia Today) has stated that the ‘No-Fly Zones in Libya is insane.’ Well I’ve got one word for Russia, and thats ‘Georgia’.

Now, waiting for more to post.

What does Georgia have to do with Libya? The situations are not even remotely comparable.
Also let’s not equate a television station with all of Russia.

I think the JV helicopter will be lighter, not exactly Mi-26 size. I’m not sure what China can even provide to Russia here, aside from money.

President-S active defense systems apparently already fitted on in-service Mi-26. Check out those banks of countermeasures too. 🙂
