That paint scheme looks far better than omfg black J-20 (seriously? black paint scheme is professional? Try abysmal for camo purposes) or boring gray F-22.

I do think it will be identical, I would love to see a slight tint in the blue though, the more paint schemes the plane is featured in the better. Hopefully Sukhoi will accommodate my aesthetic demands.

I was ambivalent towards the T-50 design but seeing the J-20 has made me a little pessimistic. Sukhoi needs to put more efforts into stealth shaping; the basic shape of the T-50 is too close to the Flanker airframe. It needs to be shorter, wider and more streamlined. I don’t doubt the next prototype will be stealthier, I just hope the end result resembles the old Raptor-ski CGIs rather than the Flanker-with-narrow-bomb-bays.

I have faith they know what they are doing. And that they have access to RCS testing chambers.

We had outdated tanks on one side with old ammo (Soviet Union did not export more advanced ammo than 3BM15 which has barely 300MM penetration figures), old armor (contemporary Soviet tanks were T-72B, T-80U and T-90, the equvilent protection against both chemical and kinetic energy was around 2-3 times higher than the Iraqi T-72s), and incompetent (compared to the Americans) crews, facing the excellent American military machine with brand new M1A1HA (uranium insets specially made for Desert Storm), and the newly deployed M829A1 round which could penetrate the Iraqi T-72s ANYWHERE. If you are going to talk about Monkey models, at least know the subject. Yeah, 1970s era armor and ammunition is going to beat the then cutting edge. That is like taking M60A3s against T-80Us. The Pattons would have been massacred.

The Arjun is designed by the same team which designed the Leopard 2 arguably the worlds finest MBT.

Oh here we go, the Leo-2 fan club. Leo-2 is no magic tank, sorry. Abrams has better crew survivability for example due to entire ammo capacity being stored in blow-out panels, while Leo-2 has a portion of the main caliber compliment on hull floor. Better armor layout arguable as well due to less “weakened zones” over the front arc due to the Leo-2s unfortunate sight placement. But either way most contemporary MBTs (Challanger 2, Leo2, Abrams, T-90A have roughly similar front arc protection. They just go about different ways to achieve that.

The only thing the trials showed is the clear attempt to make the T-90 look bad by achieving horrible firing accuracy for example (something no other T-90 operator ever had)… in the end it indicates either 1.) Indian tankers are incompetent 2.) the trials were bull****. You pick. The T-90 is going to be the mainstay of the army, Arjun has been a spectacular failure of a program in the grand scale of things.
