So far it has been only paper project. Apparently they have recently decided that if it is constructed ever, much of the Western weapons load will be substituted by Russian systems. The original layout was fantasy to put it lightly.

It is curious, because the general consensus and publicly available info implies serial Zhuk-AE will have ~1064 elements.

It is most certainly not looking for a MiG-29K replacement, stop making things up. The next naval aircrfat that India buys (LCA aside) will absolutely not replace the MiG-29K, but will be based on different carriers. It is called complimenting each other.

This would be based upon what exactly? LM has said that the F-35 won’t supercruise (their definition is M1.5 and higher). They’ve said nothing about M1 or higher, but lower than M1.5. Even clean F-16s and F-18s can exceed M1 without afterburner.

Some evidence for that please?

Does anyone have any (hopefully accurate) information on the realistic state of the R-37 missile program? Any perspectives for integration on MiG-31BM platform?

Any information on current state of the R-77M1 ramjet missile? As I understand in the near future the RVV-SD (R-77 modernization) is planned for production, as well as the RVV-MD (R-73 modernization). Will the R-77 capable units (MiG-29SMT, Su-27SM, Su-35) receive the new weapons?

Oh and anything on the Novator?

I imagine from an engine perspective the F-15 certainly had an upper hand throughout its career.

in the end russia use bigger devices with more power in, bigger antennas and less efficiences in biggers space and bigger cooling devices.
its like comparing a 100w light bulb and a 50w lightdiod.
Which one has the highest candela?

and dont let me start on the software..

I dont say russian radars are bad, but in the digital age they are behind. thats all. Russians are normaly very good in the science of radio/HF but not in the digital area.

Zhuk-AE seems to have comparable or better range than similar in size and weight contemporaries.

Irbis-E and its predecessors are indeed huge but who said they are inefficient? As benefiting such massive sets, they have very impressive performance. I don’t think a different design philosophy should be accused of being inefficient, especially when neither you nor I have had total access to the Russian systems in question to make a fully articulate comparison to “western” systems.

Clearly that makes all Russian radar technology backwards compared to all European radar tech. I feel like I am talking to a wooden pole right now. :rolleyes:
