I thought the blades were damaged by a Broussard being blown into them during a storm?

There are at least three presently in the UK. Namely: G-EBZM, G-ACGT plus the ex Oz one being restored over here as pictured above.
I have also photographed surviving Avians in Canada.

What scale? :dev2:r
Something like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73L-NG8clLY
The detailing and paint look more realistic on “your” example or is it the same one now enhanced?

Barry James at the Midland Air Museum may be able to give you some useful pointers re the Armstrong Whitworth material.
I have a soft spot for the type having flown in an NF.11 🙂

The two other Viscounts with Shackleton Avn at Baginton at the time were the ex ETPS 700 series aircraft XR801 and ‘802, not to be confused with the ex RAE aircraft mentioned earlier in this thread.

Tim,
Do you have a year for this?
Whilst talking about Avians it would be wonderful to see G-ACGT emerge from it’s long term hibernation. It is beleived to be stored in Yorkshire.

I will look into the date re my photo of BEE can’t recall precisely – I used to report for a magazine on those events so I’ll likely have some record.
So far as ‘CGT goes, I was in correspondence with Mike Rockliffe about it when he had it at Yeadon. He moved it later to a private workshop off airfield. I spoke to him on the phone after he retired and was arranging to visit but sadly he passed away before I could so so.

Viscount, thanks for your really interesting input. I can assure you that G-ABEE was taken by closed van to that PFA rally and the remains we’re laid out on the grass adjacent to a visiting aircraft. I certainly still have my b&w negative, but it isn’t easily accessible at present though I will retrieve it from storage when I can. The presence of the airframe possibly wasn’t reported widely as IIRC the skeletal remains we’re only present for part of one day.
It was interesting to see you mention MSAE of which I was a member at one time even though I was based in the Midlands!
Many years back in my day job I worked with S.G.Jones who’s picture of EZM you scanned. He was better known as George Jones and was the editor of Wrecks & Relics immediately prior to Ken taking on that mantle.

Would love to see that photo but unfortunately we cannot view it as the insertion only provides the path to the item within your own PC. There is helpful guidance in the FAQ area of the Forum about how to attach / post images – hope that helps.
I have been lead to believe the wings and other bits and pieces from G-ABEE were used in the restoration of G-EBZM.
The remains of G-ABEE ended up going to Australia and were used as a studio prop for the movie “The Lancaster Miller Affair” in the mid 80s. G-ABEE is pictured on a trailer, about to head off on a 2000km trip from Naracoorte, South Australia, to my place in Queensland. 🙂
I remember the skeletal remains of what was reportedly G-ABEE appearing via road at a PFA Rally at Sywell just before their export to Oz. I’ve got a b&w stored somewhere.

Thanks guys. As I’ve put a few pics up lately I’ll hand this go over so that it’s open to anyone to offer up the next challenge for us all – so over to you.
Oh and a question for tdi, has that museum also got the remainder of the M.S.603 or is its fuselage frame all that survives?
