how many daks have AA had over the years? They have done a wonderful job securing homes for them.
AA and associated companies have owned or operated 13 different Daks. An illustrated listing of their histories which I compiled was published in the Feb 2011 edition of “Aircraft” magazine.

Wonderful job – very well done. 🙂

The Hurricane at Alverca mentioned by Peter is certainly a FSM. This photo which I took when hosted at that base a couple of years back shows the representation. If you look closely you’ll notice that the mock canopy has suffered a derailment!

Just to validate the location of the Heron picture, here’s a photo that I took of an Angel 44 on pretty much the same spot in Iceland only a few days ago! Recognise the background? .:)

Thanks for posting this update. Well done on your hard work and good luck for a safe move.

It’s good to hear that you enjoyed Airbase. You mentioned that Howard (who as a volunteer is a member of the Classic Flight / Airbase “Ground Support Team”) was very helpful throughout your visit. As Howard is not a visitor to this Forum I passed on your kind words to him.

I thought their website said that the workshops wouldn’t be accessible on 17/18 Sep but would be open on 22/23 Oct, see:
