IMHO I think the US got it spot on.

They could have taken out that compound out with various other means (cruise,B2 etc) which would have been the easy option. The inhabitats would have all been killed, the headlines would have probably made page 3 of the national papers, it would never made this forum, the yes/no is he dead(?) debate would have rumbled on for years, etc, etc

Hopefully they will go after his money and turn that tap off.
Maybe with the computers seized from the building, they will be able to do just that.

The armed, not armed debate will also rumble on for a while. I hope he wasn’t, I hope that in the final few seconds of life he was as frustrated (not able to fight back) as the 2,300+ victims were trapped in the towers.

Is the world a safer place?……..we’re now pointing in the right direction.

I’m glad the Navy seal boys were unharmed, I’m sorry they lost one of their shiney toys in his back yard. We’ll probably see bits of it turn up on ebay.

I really can’t imagine quite what the contraption would look like!

    Remember them well.

I think the one at Cottesmore (1974) was from a Vampire, I can only remember them practicing with it. I think Wittering had one and St Mawgan as a Master Diversion Airfield along with Leeming, Manston (and some place in Scotland)

I only saw the St Mawgan one in the summer 81 sat outside 402 hangar. To my knowledge it was not used in anger during subsequent years. To be honest, I don’t remember ever seeing it again! (not that I was interested)

    there is a photo here:

    http://www.airfieldinformationexchange.org/community/showthread.php?1651-Airfield-Snow-Clearing&

of somebody elses but, they all looked them same (to me, anyway)

I expect Pagen01 will have pictures of one, somewhere.

Council in Plymouth are the landlords, the destruction of the Airport and subsequent building on it will be a quick earner.

There are some powerful people behind this.

There is a guy (still there) that could have turned it around but, he’ll never get a shot at it and I would guess its gone past the ‘tipping’ point.

Businesses around Plymouth voiced there concern over the years and some moved to Exeter. I can see more moving over the next 12 months.

No-one will jepodise their redudancy to speak up.

This is how it was done, by turning a car into a…erm…spaceship.

Payload is rubbish, however, if you just want to send a packed lunch up to the ISS, this is the machine for you.;)
