I posted this originally into the (now defunct) Movies thread, however, it was the last film to make the eyes water, especially the weaving in of real shots.

    the Malta story(B&W)

……a petrolium tanker called the Ohio, attacked several times, hit on 5 occasions with bombs, set afire, sinking, abandoned and reboarded, most of the crew killed or injured. After the most heroic effort she was lashed to a Navy destroyer and limped into the harbour at Malta. Without this tanker Malta was lost. The whole town turns out as do the British military. In silence they watch the smashed, smoking and listing tanker leaning against the destroyer with 2 tugs in attendance creeping across the harbour.
All the top brass are assembled with the Admiral watching from their HQ, the admiral on seeing the carnage realised the bravery that was unfolding before him turns to his adjadent and said (with trembling lip)

    “Sound the Alert!”

    “But she’s not a ship of war,sir”

he turns and looks at the devastation again….

    “Isn’t she?…….Sound the Alert!”

As the bugle plays all the officers and men of the RN, RAF and Army around the harbour walls snap to attention and salute.

A remarkable tribute shown by the military to a civilian ship

A great (trembly lip) moment in a great film.

(Sorry to those who had to read it again)

    Not bothered but,

a provision has been made that a particularly unique and loyal cat that was with me for twenty years who passed away two years ago, will be exhumed from her airtight coffin, placed in mine and we will then go up the chimney together.

    thats it

You should maybe take off the rosy-pink spectacles and take a look at the Tour De France cyclists before making fatuous statements like that.

    Moggy

I dunno, some of our darts players take some beating………

Found myself wanting Massa to win, was dissappointed with the Tx from ground crew, further dissappointed with swapping position however, like the way Massa did it to show it for what it was. Never liked Alonso, just comes across as a bully. He couldn’t answer the post race questions with any conviction and lied his head off.

I’m with you Benyboy, blatant (open) cheating.

Wish I could be the one to tell Alonso:dev2:

Ferrari knew at the end of the race they’d screwed up.
