Were they trying to save fuel?
I often watched Dash 7s taxi on 2 engines, once watched 1 line-up for T/O, power up the inner engines to max, whilst outer props stationary. He was informed to hold (by then he had also spotted the problem) after that I aways thought it bad practice to do so.
I normally post on the historic part of this forum, reason being, I haven’t a clue wtf you guys are talking about most of the time!
But, without doubt, your threads have some of the best one-liners and rebuttals on the whole forum.
always pop across to have a look

there were many Muslims in the crowd paying their respects to his funeral cortege.
Bumblebee, these are not the same peaceful, respectful Muslims you saw at the funeral. These were the louts at Luton screaming insults at our boys coming home from overseas whilst marching through the streets.
This group Islam4uk has only been formed to make trouble.

It’s worth pointing out that the majority of people who serve in the armed forces do so for country and freedom. Included in that is the desire for Afghanistan to have a fair and free democracy -in that is the right to protest as a means of expression. I see no difference in people wishing to protest in Wooton Bassett .
any other group than these thugs, I would agree.

Regretably, we live in a (reasonably) free society which leaves us open to this, however, I am certain that if (for example) us forum members marched in protest against the beliefs of the people planning this protest, we’d be arrested PDQ – that is where I start to get “concerned”, or angry?
There are a bunch of good guys who do just that. They are Muslims (proud to be British) called muslims4uk, they counter protest the bad guys (Islam4uk) leaving us mortals to protest the important things (like bring back Andy Saunders campaign, etc)

This particular group of protesters have already shown little regard for our serviceman and will not enhance christian/muslim relations if they proceed with ‘their’ style of protest at Wooton Bassett.
Just by websearching.-

I’m with SkyHigh here, not sure about the/our ‘free speech’ though………..

On a normal working RAF station the Ensign will be raised at 0730 (L), lowered winter 1630 (L) summer 1800 (L) I think thats when the clocks change, but the up and down remains local time. Thats from Queens regs.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
