I know a pilot who accidently looped a Wellington over/near Blackpool after he dived out of a cloud and (surprised!) found himself ‘close’ to the ground. He pulled back on the controls and then found himself climbing at a steep angle, re-entered the same cloud. He lost his orientation and instead of ‘rolling off the top’ (he feared stalling and spinning in) he continued pulling on the controls and broke cloud (again) in a ‘very steep dive’, however, now ready for the low altitude, he levelled out safely and landed at Blackpool. Although his aircraft was damaged by the manoeuvre, he was not punished in any way.

pure evil !! i was broken hearted last night because i saw a stray puss meowing in the snow on my local train station and i could not afford to take him home !

I rescued this cat, abused as a kitten and thrown out doors on a council estate during 2 feet of snow with blizzards. She was barely alive at 5am and I put her under the blow heater on a lorry I was de-icing. She was released by my missus later that morning and she headed back to her home address and sat on the window sill, meowing to get in.
When I got home that evening, I spotted her on the sill, frozen. I knocked on the door and got told mind my own business. 11pm I rescued her for a second time, she had fallen off the sill and lay in a foot of snow, still in the sitting position, too weak to meow.(the owners had gone to bed)
2 years later they asked for her back, however, this co-incided with a move back to RAF St Mawgan and suffice to say she lived with me for over 20 years. She was a great cat.

Tornado64, if you really care, go get your stray and find a home for it, there must be a cat protection place near you.

Tank busting Hurricanes carried 2x40mm guns in the western desert.

Many aircraft carried 60lb rockets, Typhoon had a set of eight plus their 4x20mm cannon. It was said it was equivalent of a broadside from a Destroyer.

News agencies are reporting Kim Jong Il died of fatigue. You’d be tired too if you’d written ‘Hamlet’, cured polio, and won the Tour De France 19 times.

    ….he died of a ronery heart………
