Thanks Jim
I wonder what they do with their 50%?
I haven’t dealt with Tesco as a fund raiser but have helped to raise thousands through other stores for various charities. They have always been so accommodating. Morrisons occasionally put the ‘older’ collector next to the cafe where its warmer and easier to get replenished. I never dreamed that a store would take money off a charity in this way, perhaps this store is adhering to ‘the book’ whereas others use discretion.
As a poor company once said

Have to say I’ve done a fair bit of collecting over the last few years, nobody ever wanted their ‘cut’ of the proceedings.
Morrisons in Newquay have been great in the past, with allowing me to take over 12 parking bays for my Spitfire and all the commotion that entails. Although they never brought tea out to the elderly couple in the foyer (why should they?) a trolley boy wandered out to me and gave me the odd break, which was appreciated.
ASDA in Bodmin was great, so was Sainsbury (Bodmin).
None asked for money
Sadly, although Woolworths in Newquay did bring tea and pasties out to me, they are no longer with us.
I think Jim, I would have asked to see the manager to get the story ‘confirmed’ as I don’t really see why a store like Tesco’s would be bothered with £23.79 of charity money. It doesn’t make any sense.
