and who was taking the “P” out of my freelander?.
Eat your heart out Bud.;)
Jim.
Lincoln .7
Who took the ‘P’ out of your freelander?
Took my ‘real’ Landrover and Spitfire from Newquay to Littlehampton and back 500+ miles for a show. (Friday/Saturday) Perfick.
What made me want to swear? East Beach Guest house, Littlehampton.
Bed no breakfast (paid for) Apparently on weekends breakfast starts at a later time of 8am and I had to be out, building up the Spitfire 7.30am.
Harvester (eatery) Loads of empty (4 seat) tables but the sad single seat table was in use so, “can you go wait in the bar for 15/30 mins till it becomes available”……………ooookay, chip shop round the corner.

As fate would have it I’m selling my Hunter cockpit and trailer too – I’ve been told £5k is a fair price for its condition (lovely inside) and its on a strong roadworthy 2-bogie trailer which cost £1,500 including ply boarding, mounting and formers. The tyres and spare are all brand new and have done less than 500 miles and I wondered if anyone agrees with the valuation I have been given to date.
How about a photo?:)

I’m with you on this one. I don’t know why these things can’t be discussed in a calm way with resorting to hyperbole and keyboard heroism.
…told you a million times…:D
Nothing heroic about defending your well being, its driven by self preservation. The bravest thing I’ve ever done is to remove wayward Hornets from my living room (without killing them)
I’ve had ‘shed’ intruders, garden ‘invaders’, petrol ‘thieves’ etc.
Living out in the countryside you have to put up with it (and take care how you deal with it.) In all but one case over the last 20 odd years, just simply switching on security lights did the trick.
I agree that you cannot meat out justice in these cases, however, once they break into your home then thats a different ball game.
By the way, I was never comfortable with the Tony Martin shooting after reading the report and not comfortable with this particular case if they hadn’t ‘crossed the boundary’
Anyway, I’m off to practice self defence using an old keyboard.

Apply that to any other situation where someone can feel threatened and we are very soon into anarchy. In the heat of the moment who knows what an individual will do to protect their car / family in the street / honour / wherever they feel threatened. Where do you draw the line? In a civilised society that’s what laws are for – to stop people doing exactly this. As I said before – the punishment for burglary is not capital punishment in law so why should an individual on their own think it is?
Rubbish.
Burglary is when a scroat breaks into your house and steals your property, then departs.
However, when you confront someone in your own home, wearing a balaclava with gloves etc, how do you know he’s a burglar?? How do you know his intentions??
The eight inch screwdriver he just used to lever that window open to gain entry to your property just a few moments ago, is now a weapon.
I’m not condoning the murdering of a burglar, but I do condone protecting yourself from an intruder. If by injuring or killing an intruder that you felt at the time was a clear and present danger to you and your family, so be it.
If you later find out he was a burglar, unlucky, he shouldn’t be there!
Where do you draw the line? within the boundary of your house.
Anarchy? It seems ok for some that burglars can roam free, doing what they want, where they want, to whom they want, stealing, smashing, vandalising and destroying lives.(that sounds like anarchy to me)
When I was burgled some years ago, my house has never been my home ever since. The police were completely useless, (your) law was never applied as the culprit was never caught.(how can they when they’re chasing motorists)
I now have alarms and cctv installed and have become very handy with a bass broom. Burglars (professional) will avoid properties like mine, so, if I have an intruder in my place at mid-night, I’m going to bore him with my war stories first, until I perceive him no longer a threat. (he falls asleep) Dial 999 and whilst I’m waiting an hour for the police to turn up, make the scroat a cup of tea.

If the intruder who was killed did not have a weapon then the people who killed him can hardly be said to have used “reasonable force”. As I said until the facts are clear we are hardly able to pronounce judgement. Yes, of course he was committing an offence, but were the occupants justified in killing him?
er,….just before midnight, dark, 4 onto 2, are you going to stand around trying to work out if they’re armed?
In the wrong place at the wrong time!
Shame they didn’t get the other three.
