    The X-38 was based on the X-24 project. Thats why they are so alike.

    However, the X-38 was unmanned and incorporated new technology in computing and materials.

    Yes, and note the 2 bolts used to fasten the instrument arrangement thingy. I’ll search for more interiour photos.

    The Japanese took a serious pounding towards the end and most material was utterly destroyed. The remaining was used as last effort weapons. Everything that could fly, was used untill it fell out of the sky.

    1. As you say: the pacific might still turn up a few perls.

    2. So the Americans did get a ki46-2. Is anything known about its end?

    AFAIK technical writers often traced the lines on photographs, so details were easier to see and the picture would look better when printed in books/manuals.

    AFAIK the Jug had a normal type stick (on all pictures i can remember seeing).

    However, its very possible that they made a spade grip model.

    Again AFAIK the Havard “trigger” was off-set to the left, not centered like this.

    you can cross the frances, willow and dinah off the list there at least

    the dinah is at RAFM cosford
    the Frances with the paul garber collection and the willow at a museum in indonesia

    there are many more axis aircraft in preservation than i could believe!!!

    The Cosford Dinah is a ki 46-III. I think Oz Rb Fan wants the ki 46-II on the list.

    AFAIK there are 5 aircraft considered to be part of the heavyweight lifting body design test.

    M2-F3

    I was about to caption the bomb instruction image, but my girlfriend is Irish and i would get into trouble…….

    They call it a Birmingham on the other picture as well:
