Not sure how many are following the quiz, but if its only the two of us and John, then I’m bound to guess a few along the way:D
Next mystery:

Thats very sad news indeed. The Lost Bombers website is an incredible body of work, which I have used time and time again. It is a noble legacy.
R.I.P.
BURNS BA-42
Nice pictures. Looks like access is relativly good, despite the aircraft hanging from the ceiling. I never really understood why museums are so keen to suspend aicraft with wires. Surely we all know they are flying machines and can enjoy them without such a visual reminder.
Correct! (I got to make my mysteries harder)
Your turn
I once powder coated a motorcycle frame and encountered a problem with inside threads. These needed to be re-threaded as the powder build-up prevented their proper function. When re-threading them, it was nearly impossible not to crack the coat around the hole, thus exposing the frame, which then had to be painted. So all in all I didn’t gain anything from powder coating and would not recommend it for motorcycle frames.
As for aircraft frames, I agree with the posters above. Its not worth it.
Nice touch with the before and after pictures.
It appears that John is unable to post at the moment, so I have taken it upon myself to continue the quiz. John can always post again when he returns.
Here we go:

I managed this very poor screenshot of the ‘Marlborough’ – what are those fins from? (apologies to HM Crown copyright etc etc!)
Don’t worry HM Crown copyright has expired for WWII material 😎
I think you are right – it was just something I noted.
I found a list of RAF operations/losses during the Battle of France 1940
http://www.epibreren.com/ww2/raf/
Under each sqdn there is various losses listed. unfortunatly many of them are not fully recorded, as the situation was very chaotic.
Are you sure about 103 sqn?
The first letter looks more like an R, which could leave the last letter as H (which it looks like on the first picture. RH would be 88 sqn stationed in France parts of 1940.

Wrong report…sorry
Where is our quiz John 😀
Thanks for posting. Its great to see/hear about the days when these fantastic aircraft still worked for a living. BBMF flyovers are just not the same..
That truely was an obscure aircraft. Not even able to find much online.
Are those private photos?
Does any parts of the PKX-2 still exist?
I think you beat us all with that one, so I guess its your turn again 😀
