I am no number-cruncher. However the 738 and 321 have ‘issues’ at hot and high airfields and short runways when fully laden.
The 732 was a much better little performer at small airports, with its integral airstairs and ability to get out of the smallest airfields! It might be knocking on but it could still win over its larger brother in this area!
Not in my opinion. The 777 does have excellent range capabilities, I said earlier, I cannot dispute the fact. However, I personally prefer 3 or 4 engines for long-haul. All this 777 and 330 nonsense. I blame the 767 that was the aircraft that started this off.
That was a cheap jibe. Of course I am aware of the DC10s accidents/incidents but it is still a very capable airliner which has given millions of passengers a safe and comfortable form of transportation.
You two are like a double act. The 735 is not a very old aircraft by anymeans. It was a BA operated aircraft and with that comes certain expectations like seats where the leather isnt torn. BA give good service compared to the competition but they should take more pride in the cabins!
I dont smoke. Do you read the papers some of those 742 on the Florida runs have suffered very heavy delays of late. Remember the TravelcityDirect/Air Atlanta 742?
Unless of course you like 12 hour delays, if so then take Air Atlanta 742s!
I expect the interiors to be kept to a decent standard and not worn carpets and seat covers. Wisdom comes with age something you will learn as you mature LBA.
The 777 has got two engines so in my book it will always be medium-haul at best, despite its range capabilities.
If you were a child of the 70s like me, you would appreciate those DC10s. Newer isnt always better in my view!
Yes they can at LBA on a cold northerly day when the sun comes out those raircraft are not going anyway at full weight.
Lots of Mediterannean airports like smaller Greek Islands are a tow for a full laden 738 or 321.
Its not only the 757s, I travelled on a BA 735 last month and the interior was worn. The leather seats could have done with been recovered.
They lavish all their attention on the Airbus short haul and long-haul wannabe 777.
Wait for Air Scandic and the DC10! I hate plastic land Florida but I might even go myself with windbreaker of course just to hitch a ride on the DC10.
You daft? The title should give you a pretty good indication of what the post is about. It is a serious point with regard to these new aircraft.
Unless you have something to add, relevant and on-topic, then button your lip.
I wopuld welcome some on-topic feedback.
The 738 is a runway hog when compared to its older sister the 732 which has excellent short field performance.
That aircraft is a real workhorse for sure. At least now with Ryanair she doesnt have to fly nights. A punishing day schedule though. Stood the test of time but very outdated now. Excellent field performance though much better at getting into small airports than FRs new 73-8s which are runway hogs!
What a beautiful view. TFN is a notoriusly dissicult airport to get in and out of. The sight of so many horrible tradgedies. Thoise mountains may have been the last thing passengers on G-BDAN saw before hitting terrain. Very sad!
