I think that 1993 was actually a “Classic fighter” show, “Legends” first year was 1996 ?
Not according to this years programme which had an article on the story of the beginings of Flying Legends.
It says the first ever one was a single day event held on the May Bank holiday.
The first two day event and switch to July was in 1994.
I must admit, I used to think that the first FL was held in 1994, although I suppose that’s true to an extent, as it’s the format that it has stuck too and became known for since then.

I wonder why she has the six exhaust layout most newly rebuilt or refurbished Hurricanes have the normal three exhaust layout , including LF363 .It would be interesting to know the reason , maybe the mark of Merlin installed ? im sure someone here will know .
BBMF over the last few years have fitted newly manufactured siamese exhausts to the Hurricanes and baby Spits. I think they intitialy had issues with them cracking, but that’s since been rectified I think, and over the last few years, they seem to swap between the single stacks and siamese ones during the airshow season.
Btw, PZ865 looks fab in her new scheme. Congrats to all at ARC.

Did Ralph Hull do anything on it,because he is a bit of an unsung hero in Spitfire restorations?
Umm, I’m not sure if the folks at Vintage Wings Of Canada would agree with that!

Great news.
And thanks for the Pics MK12. 🙂
Forgive my ignorance but don’t HF Mk 9’s have elongated wing tips for high altitude work???
Be gentle…
The H.F designation refers to the engine fit, which would have originally been a Merlin 70.
I believe a RR232 has one of these fitted now.

I seem to recall there was a thread on here a while back which mentioned that a lot of the landing problems with PA474 in the 1990s’ were caused by the Shackleton tyres that were fitted being inflated to the same PSI as when on the Shacks.
Once they reduced the tyre pressure, the problems were solved.
