Just seen an article about it in my local rag.

Looks like it should be a great weekend and nice to see an airshow taking place there again! 🙂

    Congrats Melvyn.

Must have been very satisfying after all the hard work you put in. 🙂

I hope you are planning on bringing her over to Dunsfold for the show there in June!

If you can lay your hands on a copy, “Spitfire – The Story Of A Famous Fighter” by the late Bruce Robertson ain’t too bad a choice either. 🙂

Damn Airfix confusing the hell out of me – their 1/72 depicts BM144 with later-type roundels (unless it did fly like that?).

BBMF – next time AB910 is due for a repaint, can we have her like this?? 😀

Or maybe BM597 for a couple of seasons!

After all she has the external armoured windscreen and Rotol 3 bladed prop. 🙂

I must admit I quite liked MH434 when she was painted as SZ-G and the PK-K during the 1997/8 season! 😀

Btw, Voytech, what is the title of the book which features Zumbach’s Spitfires?

In the 70’s I’m sure MH434 touched down at OW.

It sure did Septic. I have a picture of it in a book somewhere parked next to AR501.

Hoof Proudfoot also landed TFC’s Hurricane at OW in 1995. You can see the footage on the Aviation Action 1995 “Airshow Review” video that’s now on DVD. 🙂

As much as I love the OW Based machines, I would really love to see a few more of the DX based machines display there as during the mid 90’s, it seems they were frequent vistors!

I would love to have seen Mark Hanna’s display there in 1998 (when that lovely photo by John Dibbs was taken – I believe he landed there btw).

It would be nice to have 434 back there for a display this year with Ray at the controls! 😀

Great Shots Seafuryfan and thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed these and the 1985 shots. 🙂

Always good to see pics from the time the UK Warbird scene was starting to take off.

I remember seeing her fly over here (Haslemere) when Doug Arnold was shifting his collection from Biggin to Bournemouth. IIRC, I just happened to be listening to Dunsfold on the air band and was about to turn it off when I heard the pilot ask if they would like a flyby. 🙂

I also seem to recall NH238 fly overhead quite high a few days later.

Btw, I wonder why Doug Arnold had a preference for two cannons on these Spits?

    Nice pics China Clipper.

Looks like Raybourne Thompson and his team have done a great job.

    One question though.

How come there is (looks like it anyway!) a second radiator temp gauge mounted below the fuel tank gauge?

    Just curious!

WoP Is indeed a great package. 🙂

If you have the bombers, then you must get the P51! 😀

As Stieglitz says great model & sound – sampled inside and out from the real thing!

I believe a patch for the P51 is due very soon correcting several issues which should make the best P51 even better! And there should be one for the bombers too.

    Typical of that idiot Prescott.

Seems it doesn’t matter whether it’s Green Belt land or not, he seems to put up houses wherever he sees fit! 😡

Also a bit daft building right next to an active airfield. Suprised they haven’t planned to build more at the threshold of RWY 21 as there are some nice empty fields there! If these proposed new houses did go ahead, it wouldn’t be long before the new residents started moaning as Firebird points out.

Maybe this is all part of a Goverment plan to close Biggin so they can use the land to build more houses on. 🙁

Might be worth uploading the High res version to Avsim or Flightsim.com.

They usually post videos shot from various sims.

Should get quite a few downloads I should imagine!

Yep I agree with you there but I don’t think there are any other decent freeware ones available. Shame he lost the GMax source files to these as it would have been nice to have had them reworked/updated.

Actually he seems to have vanished from the FS community for ages now which is a shame, as I believe RL commitments got in the way of his hobby. 🙁

The Paul Rebuffat Spits weren’t too bad you know! 🙂

Shame he didn’t do any early marks but I understand he prefered the later ones.
