RE: Online Flying Club for Real World Pilots

Well, i know you couldnt stress this enough but it sounds like a virtual airline, operates like a virtual airline and probably is, technically, a virtual airline! lol

Anyway good luck with it, its well resourced and communication looks like it will be good.. i look forward to applying in the near future!

    regards,

    RE: easyJet – Newcastle Routes

I don’t think its silly at all to be honest, easyJet is simply doing something very clever – finding out where potential customers want to fly to rahter than setup routes based on the current market situation and have no-one fly on them.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before but we are very pleased in the North East to have easyJet join us – the only true ‘low-cost’ service at the moment was the go-fly service to Stansed (although obviously, this has now been integrated into the easyNetwork).

The decreasing fares with BA are also now an added bonus but like i said, i’m sure the true ‘low-cost’ airlines will do marginally better.

Well SOFTLAD, gill-airways-virtual dont exactly have a good reputation and if you do join them, check the small print rgarding to so-called “free items that no other VA’s offer”.

Unlike them, Air Newcastle offer a community of virtual pilots.

yeh my system has more-aless the same specs – find it hard to get alot out of FS2002, especially when im flying online with 3 or 4 applications running at the same time!

i ditto EGNM’s comments on joining a virtual airline – its a great way to add realism to your flightsim flying.
    *not a plug 😉 but…

please do visit my airline, Air Newcastle, which is incidently based at EGNT. We operate 2 CRJ200’s on flights to Aberdeen, Belfast City, Bristol and London Gatwick. We are jsut completing opening preparations but i assure you, we will be worth it!

RE: What could be the reason of the cockpit-window cracking?

I remember watching a documentary some time ago about Freddie Laker starting up Laker Airways in the 1990’s where a windscreen on a DC-10 cracked on it’s delivery flight from another airline – unlucky or what??

I also know a Britannia Airways purser who was once on a flight where the window in one of the rear doors cracked upon landing in Palma, must ask him what actually happened sometime.

“These characteristics result in clinically significant impairment
in social, occupational, or other important areas of
functioning” – surely there can’t be aircrews with social and occupational impairments flying aircraft in the skies above us!?!

I don’t suppose anyone is a Doctor or knows of a Doctor which could should alittle more light on the situation, I am now quite intrigued with this “lifelong” condition that aircrews can supposedly fly with.

Great news – EGNT is my local airport!

I believe the routes proposed are Geneva, Nice and Amsterdam (competing with KLMuk) along with the existing London Stansted currently flwon by go-fly.

I cant wait personally, should have a few day trips now and again seeing as the air fares will be low enough for a poor student!

    P.S Benair, u near EGNT??

yeh I seen it and have to say that it nearly made me physically sick.
What happened on that aircraft was disgusting, evil and calculated to a degree beyond belief. I dont mind hearing the stories over and over, no-matter how often if it means that the travelling public and aircrews are made more aware of the incidents onboard and thereofre prevent them in future.

I am by no-means a wimp, but listening to some of the actual telephone conversations brought a tear to my eye, something which I talked about openly in my Government and Politics lesson today at college.

On a more aviation-related note now, did anyone else think that the united airlines aircraft featured in the film was an Airbus A319? A safety card was clearly shown as was a passenger sitting adjacent to the overwing exit!?!?!
-jsut something my eagle eyes managed to pick up

    cheers,
