Thanks for posting that Pete. I was looking for them online earlier and couldn’t find them. The one that was up at AIRBASE was for the new access road that cut through the site. It seems to be taking an age for them to load at present. I will have a look later, but it seems that more is staying than I at first thought, but doesn’t it list the old Alvis test facility for demolition?

I think hanger 7 is due to be part of the new development but the others are due to be ‘re-cycled’. There has been a plan of the new development up at AIRBASE for sometime for those who wanted to see, I must admit I only gave it one quick look. I don’t think any of it has yet got passed the planners though.

The engineering section can not move overnight as you need to get new facilites approved and audited for the AOC and other approvals, but it will move. The current lease expires at the end of July 2013, expect there to be nothing there after that. I would like to think that a ‘pit-stop’ in central England can be found or that a weeks accomodation between events can be arranged as part of an airshow booking etc.

Does anyone happen to know if the Red/orange Dakota G-ANAF is currently airworthy?

No, mid way through conversion to a spray-Dak but has had some parts used on G-AMPY in the meantime. šŸ™‚

As I understand it the current plan is for the airworthy aircraft to move to Newquay in two weeks time, although that maybe a bit optimistic. Dakota G-AMRA is currently airworthy for the person who asked. We will be at Shuttleworth this Sunday with a Rapide pleasure flying, providing the weather plays ball. It will be an interesting few months!

In common with many on the forum, I am sure, I have been checking this thread regularly for news and desperately hoping for a positive outcome. It was not to be, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved.

This will include many who visit these pages, as our on-line community includes many from that part of the world. We’re thinking of you.

I had hoped above all hope to visit this thread today and find some good news, instead I was to find such terrible news:(
Thoughts as always with the families and freinds effected by this terrible tragedy, blue skies all, our thoughts and prayers go with you.

My thoughts are the same as the two above, and as they have written it better than I could I have quoted them here. I spend most of my weekends working with pleasure flying Rapides and something similar is always your worst fear. I hope they didn’t suffer. Blue Skies. šŸ™

I would say this picture was taken at the same show, listed as Coltishall 09/62

Can anybody give some timings for Bitteswell and Coventry? I’m going to be in the area so I’d like to try and be there.

    Coventry :

Expected 1527 local, cleared down to 300ft and for two passes.

Don’t shoot the messanger if this doesn’t happen! Why not combine viewing the Vulcan with a last chance to see AIRBASE at Coventry before it closes on Sunday šŸ™‚
