I can’t see how a Greek can judge on whether war is funny or not. Seeing as they are never there.

Yes. I feel sorry for the person who has to share his foxhole. Miserable bugger. It was funny when the old boy said

“Good afternoon my arrse you boche barstard”.

Very funny. Perhaps he missed it?

I fear that may be the case. I hope I never have to share a trench with Adonis. He’d be far too miserable for me.

    I saw that episode too.

Yes, isn’t he wound up? He really should get out more – I have an excuse. Marriage.

A greek soldier walks into a bar,
Well, he’s hardly likely to walk into an ambush at home, is he.

“found your conscience, morality, sense of right & wrong…..nah that would asking too much!”

Actually, I am organising the erecting of a memorial to 2 dead pilots as we speak. I was on the phone to a brother of one a couple of days ago. I am in daily contact with an 84 year old who constantly mentions his friends, past and present, in the same breath as ‘the grim reaper’.

I don’t support this particular war, quite the opposite. And I have friends currently in the Gulf. But I don’t start whining when people tell jokes on a thread I DON’T HAVE TO READ, about a subject I do not understand. tell me, Adonis, how many times have you had guns pulled on you? As in real, live, loaded automatic weapons by people who were threatening you? Put me down for twice, and put me down as having been laughing about the second time 5 minutes later. And as for playing generals, well, even the real ones are ******s, far preffered being an infantry grunt when I did my time. And you know what? Laughter was the one thing that kept us going on many occasions.

Rome would have been built in a day, but I didn’t have the contract for the plastering, and the painters couldn’t make it until after the weekend. Then, the bloody skip was full up with mattresses and a fridge!
