Not yet but it must be so tempting they do get the nose wheel off the ground.

I was at breighton a few years back when that flew it had engine trouble but prior to that was in a dogfight with the hurricane, then in the distance you could hear popping & on my scanner i heard taff say he had engine trouble, he did a flyby and you could see flames from the engine.
It did a fast circuit and came into land very quickly engine shut down as soon as it landed & fire crew came out with extinguishers!
The hurricane got it!
As an aside, why is ‘ham’ radio called that?
Yes it’s a slang word for amateur.
All us amateur’s are known as radio hams.
Those type of radios are well liked by most in the hobby as well as others and generally get restored back to working condition as i have worked thats spoken to on the band using one.
Stick it on e bay in ham radio section it will sell no problem.
Nip across to your local air museum with your hacksaw and “borrow a bit”!
ONLY JOKING!! LOL………
There is scrapyards that deal with aircraft in the uk think there is one in south yorkshire why not pop in see what they say?
Ahem, that was based on authentic warbird colours – No.16 Squadron operating Fr.IXs in France post-D-Day…. 😉
No they were not that pink! they were white with a drop of red thrown in not a bucket!
Come on stop messing get it up!
Pl 965 painted in pink now that was gorgeous! those pics at the top are just fine like reno air racers nice paint jobs.
It gets a bit boring when there either all polished metal or standard colours.
They eventually changed the propeller and that cured it.
I don`t know what causes Hydromatic props to go out of balance though.Pete
Thanks pete,
Better than scapping I guess….
£388,000) in renovating it.
Must be bloody mad! however nice idea……..
Anyone.?
But annual membership is cheaper than some airshow ticket prices – and if you take close friends and family with you it’s cheaper still as they can be admitted free as guests. Works for me!
Then it’s worth looking into as breighton is only 1hr drive tops and has made for a v good weekend in the past.
Forget the seating improve the exit it took us 40+ mins to get out of the car park lots of cars all down to a single track to the gate, this was top end near tank musuem.
As for stepladders well what happens when you have tall men like me in front of you? i want to be at the front too and you want to see over me etc. lol
Breighton airshows are good just a shame you have to be a member to enter the field it puts many off from joining because your tied.
