Thanks for that info, I really miss Speedbird 2075 (as it wasB4 )roaring overhead at 11.00 each day —if it is going to happen may it be soon. Its lovely to see a 747 go over here low ,the nearest I get to seeing them is when Air France descends into Paris each day ,or the South African traffic roars over from LHR at night!!

Best flight was LGW to MBJ via KIN on 13/4 1999–it was a brand new 777(* we were expecting a DC10but they had got rid of themthe week before!) We couldnt get over how huge the plane was when we got off at Montego Bay and we were able to see it go back off to London even though it was pitch dark! It was a good trip as the holiday was a freebie courtesy of our local radio stations phone in competition !

Here goes!! AIRWAVES 2003 IS A COMPREHENSIVE hf/vhf/uhf Aviation Directory civil and military freqs ,it cost me 9.95 inc P&P (WEB SITE http://www.photav.demon.co.uk) its a really good book in my opinionwith a freq map of the atc sectors as well( tel no 01803 855599) —they do not accept credit cardsyou have to pay by cheque! Good luck !!

Flight Routings 2003 is a very useful little book–can be bought from Amazon another is Call Sign 2003 which is produced by Enthusiasts in Devon (if anyone wants the address I have it here )—Air Waves 2003 is also super for ATC listeners (that comes from the same place)

Those flats at Marina Bay are a hellish price I went online property searching and 250000 minimum— shame as it would be super to live there but dont think our cats would like it when a plane comes in to land though! A place to buy when we win the lottery!

Thanks for the replies –it was 3 years ago when we last went to Gib –missing it—– so hopefully we can go this year, we want to see what has been done to the Caleta hotel and yes the road was shut between the Hotel and the Gib Beach (Both worlds ) when we went last went — we walked all the way round to the town thro the tunnels on one of our prev trips there and my other half got sunstroke as he didnt take a sun hat , dont think we will attempt that one again! the taxis are fine there, if I spoke Spanish wouldnt mine controlling cabs there as that is one of my jobs here at present!! Let us know how you get on !!

Have a nice time in Gib —weve been there 6or7 times as we just like the place. Are you staying in Gib or in Spain?
The Caleta hotel is not bad -right on the beachwith lovely views out to sea –nice place to eat is BIANCAS in Marina Bay get there early in the eves if you want a table outside( right next to the airstrip too),thats why we like it there and you can walk a few yard and watch when you know one is coming in or taking off !!Have fun
