Nice info Aurcov 🙂 Subjects like crappy little Swedish “fighters”?? It might be small but I would`nt call it crappy 😡 Seems to me, the F-15 did a pretty fine job too! Only one loss.
When Europeans hears that the Americans says the JSF will be a cheaper aircraft, they
argue against it. When Americans hears that the European EFT can supercruise, they argue against it. A lot of nationalistic pride, I`ll sence in this topics. But thats fine by me. What I don`t like, is that when nations choose they`re next fighters, we all know it`s all politics 😡
The only two airplanes I see even giving the Raptor somewhat of a fight are the Typhoon and F-35.
Yepp. I`ll drink to that. Cheers 😀 I,m pretty sure that the F/A-18s, and all other pilots dreamed of becomeing a F-22/EFT/F-35 pilot when they were`nt flying, and now maybe even when they`re flying too…
Thanks Sferrin!! Nice pictureboard. I`m looking forward to see what the ruskies can come up with this time. Always fun when new fighters comes out in the open, and dress up our blue skies with they`re beautiy!
Very nice folks. Thanks too everyone!!! Keep it going.
Last year’s, last month’s, last week’s or today’s?
A cuple of all of them would be cool. Maybe some hypotetical once, if there arent any official once yet
I feel sorry for those F/A-18s pilots 😀 Maybe they had some restrictions too :diablo: Any more info on this Exercise would be welcome.
Can anyone please post some pictures of the new future fighters from russia. Maybe even post some specifications.
Its not a blind statement to say that technologically, the JSF is a generation ahead of the EF. Its but the plain truth. The rest depends on how the respective aircraft are employed – to minimize their weaknesses and play up their strengths.
On this particularly statment, I`ll partly agree with you. Specially your last sentence. EFT is under development NOW. F-22/FB-22 is under development NOW. Just as the JSF is under development NOW. The technologys in these planes will be just as advanced as the other when the time comes. But for the airframe, the EFT is the latest 4.gen and the JSF one of the first 5.gen, witch make your statment very true, and Ì`ll agree 🙂
The real telling thing will be if the British ( or Italy I suppose) continue to purchase Typhoons once they have JSF in service.
Very true. I dont realy expect both nations to purcase more EFTs than they
allready have figuered out that they need. Its not a cold war anymore, and
therefore we`ll see fever and fever aircrafts in most countrys 🙁
I also think that a stripdown version of the Jas-39 Gripen or some F-16A/B MLUs are
good alternatives. Did you know that the beautiful Gripen can take-off and land on normal traffic roads, is extremely cheep to maintain and upgade, you dont need proffesionals, but just 3 normal trainies to check and ready the plane, also much of the maintence is done bye trainies and its deployable after only 10min !!!!
Anyone have photos of F-16s with nuclear bombs? Do they carry the bomb on the centreline hardpoint or under the wings?
YEH!!! That would be realy cool. Some close air support that would have been 😀 I can be in the F-16, and you on the ground :dev2:
Just kidding… Can anyone please post some pictures of nuclear bombers.
I dont like blind statements about how the JSF will kick the EFT in every aspect, and vice versa. To think that either of them is superior to the other is just a blind statment
due to the lack of knowledge of both aircrafts. Or an patriotic act. When the time comes (2010-2015) we all know that they will be equals when we sum up all the pros and cons. The differences will lay on they`re different roles they are built for. F-22 and EFT for airsuperiority, crusemissiles attack/defence, intercept and the fantastic JSF for close air support, recon and escort.
I think the F-15E/K/… is an impressive platform with nearly all the qualitys a great DEEPSTRIKER need. I doesnt know about the Russian alternatives, so I`m not gonna comment them. Pretty sure they have simular performance. The F-111 is what I would call a DEEEEEEEEEPSTRIKER, given its superior range and weaponloads, but maybee a little outdated. It also fails in the air defence role. In the future, I think most people will agree that F/B-22, EFT tr.2/3, and the beautiful Rafale will become the most superior one. I didnt count the fantastic JSF since its much better suited as the close combat support role its being built for (just like the F-16).
I live in Alta, Norway now, so I only se some sivilian planes. But I have lived in Lakselv,
and got some of my family there. In Lakselv we have the Banak airport. There I`ve mostly seen The RNoAF F-16AM3/BM3, Seaking from 330 Sqd, and Bell 412SPs, but also P-3C/N Orions, C-130 Hercules, Oslo police force Eurocopter EC 135 T2/P2? and the Coast Guards Lynx. On inernational rescue exersices and bombtrainings I`ve also seen forengin F-16s, Swedish EC-135, Superpuma,Russian IL-76? and twin main rotary Rescue helo, British Chinooks and Tornados.
