That’s interesting. Seem to remember an Allison engine advertised a few years back, something not right about that one either. A chap that I was in touch with was after an Allison so I gave him the details that I’d seen. Apparently he had seen it too and contacted the seller, but did no good as it didn’t add up. Wonder if it’s the same lot?

Thanks for the replies guys, I knew about the one at Hill 62, my brother was out there in November. He said it’s inside now whereas about 15 years ago it was outside. Where was the photo of the one that you posted taken avion ancien?

Hi scrooge what are they and are the flyers or rebuilders? PM me if you prefer, thanks.

Almost 5 years to the month from joining to first post, I wonder if that is a record? Anyway, hi.

Can’t suggest any websites but do know someone with several DH types for sale (and a couple of ‘others’). where are you based and what are you after or are you selling?

Perhaps bits of it could be put on ebay, that would offset recovery costs:highly_amused:

Well looking through some stuff, one sold on ebay in the U.S. for£1609.00 last year but that one was fur lined, (the deluxe version). There is one on ebay in Japan at the moment with 6 days to run, and that has one bid so far for $0.99, so if you think the price you can get it for is reasonable go for it, keep it long enough and it will only go up in price. Good luck.

How difficult is it to get parts are they available as I may have found one in an incomplete condition!

I daresay it depends on what is missing altogether. There would probably be someone in the States who specialises in OX 5’s, or you may be able to get bits machined up, as it isn’t for an airworthy engine ( Is it? ). Again depending on what is missing.

Brilliant, that they are doing all these aircraft and engines in New Zealand, wish we could do this here in the U.K. Hope there’ll be an article in that popular New Zealand magazine. Your pictures look fantastic by the way, thanks.

Wow I see what you mean, that’s pretty heavy duty money, considering no carb and mags either. Thanks for the reply.

Just as a interest thing wildside , what sort of money did they want and was it all there, or parts missing?
