I contacted him the other day, & asked him what his intentions are, he said that if enough info turns up, then he is going to build it to an airworthy standard “but did’nt say if he intends to fly it or not”.

I have also put him in contact with the company I use to get wooden parts cut/shapped by CNC, so he should be able to get on with it, as soon as he has enough info etc.

    Cheer’s.

Thanks for finding out Bob,wish him all the best with it from me when you speak to him next.Wonderful if he does fly it.

    Sopwith.

That’s all very well but, why the seeming secrecy and delay in publishing the Contracts?

I’ll be honest John, that was the first that I had heard of it when I saw your post, there is such a lot of insignifigant stuff in the magazine I only read the engineering section and the adverts or the occasional flight test. The rest I don’t bother with.

Surely most people join the LAA because it is the cheapest way to own and operate a PFA type aircraft or build one,so in fairness there is no alternative, unless you want to own and fly a C of A aeroplane, which would certainly be a whole lot more expensive and you wouldn’t have the variety of choice. So basically I don’t see what the problem is.The LAA is very good value and flexible.

Few more shots from Culdrose 2010 and one from Stapleford Tawney 1972. Ones I saw at Croydon were G-APTZ, G-AJCP before it closed and G-ARIZ being built in Rollasons in 1961 after the field closed

Did Ralph Hull do anything on it,because he is a bit of an unsung hero in Spitfire restorations?

My late father was in the Royal Engineers and did a spell on Bomb disposal in London, luckily he survived.Another Uncle was a paratrooper, and he did his first jump out of a tethered baloon, then his first jump from an aircraft was out of a Whitley bomber.I had another uncle in the Durham Light infantry who was killed a couple of days after D day,19 years old and he’s buried in France at Tilly-sur-Seulles cemetery.Goes without saying, very proud of them all.

I have been passed today further information which seem to indicates more precise details regarding the recovered P-43 Lancer and Mustang which has been reported by other who recovered them as found at Wagga Wagga NSW, Australia.

It seems some people have researched the remains already extensively and extracted significant information and passed it on.

Well what’s it about Daniel? You have said something and nothing at the same time, curious to know what is the point of it?
