Wow!,will it be at Legends next year?:).Thought I’d get that one in first.
Anybody know what the bidding on it went to?
Has anyone any news if things have moved forward ?
Advert in LAA mag this month.
That’s interesting Pistonrob,I wrote to the station commander at the time asking for permission to see all the ex gate gaurd Spitfires that were there at the time and photograph them.I got permission and did 35mm photos and also some medium format slides.I guess that would have been 91/92 ish.I remember they were doing a Spitfire rebuild for the BBMF,MK356?. I’m sure someone can put me right if that’s the wrong serial number, but it was definetly a mark 9. Must try and find the photos and slides.
Wow £3250.00 or offers, very nice but alot of money and only good for museum piece or a pattern.Pity about the worm damage.
Thanks,thats good news.
Speaking of Richard Bach, does anybody know how he is progressing since his accident?
I know this thread is for 2013, but I found Spitfire IX RR232 in the Aerial Museum hangar at Filton today, and it is expected to fly very soon. As the airfield closes on 21st December 2012, that means it must be within the next month. I say ‘found’, I didn’t know it was here, and thought it was still in Exeter. It was looking very good, in primer.
Andrew
That is interesting, keep us posted on further developments please. Thanks
No I missed it,but I would think that it was a reasonable buy for £150-00.Hope it goes to a good home.
Ok thanks for the update Andy,I’ll look forward to it.
Great, I enjoyed Porco Rosso, any idea when it will be out?
DH9 would be nice.Incidentley Andy any news of when your book about it is out?
Yes totally agree with you Tango Charlie, they are an aerial carriage.I had a quick circuit in ADMT back in the summer and I felt exactly the same way, wonderful aeroplanes.
