Not really British bikes can be very reliable if they have been put together properly.They have got an unfair reputation because at one time they were cheap transport and suffered lots of bodge jobs on them.

‘Original’ as in ‘least restored’, or ‘original’ as in closest configuration to original entry to service fit-out?
Difficult to say really,I just wondered out of P9374 and X4650,which would be considered the most original,not any of the other Spitfires.
As an aside while on the subject of Merlin engine builders,does anyone know how many merlins Continental Motors in America made?

I have just seen it and thought John Sergeant did an excellent job presenting the programme,also pleased for him having a ride in a two seater,he deserved a go.Good for him.
